Ocean Nutrition Mysis Flat Pack 454g
Whole frozen mysis shrimp in a 454g bulk flat pack. Ocean Nutrition Mysis is a two-ingredient frozen food — whole mysis shrimp and water — that suits almost any omnivorous or carnivorous fish, plus LPS corals. The flat pack format freezes thin, so a portion snaps off cleanly rather than having to chip at a block.
Key features
- Whole mysis shrimp — just mysis and water, nothing else added.
- Broad suitability — fed to guppies, angels, tetras, catfish, clownfish and gobies, and to LPS corals.
- Flat pack format — snaps into portions, so you're not thawing more than you need.
- 454g bulk size — sized for busy tanks or multiple feeders, well beyond the standard 100–113g retail pack.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
- Suitable for all omnivorous and carnivorous fish, including guppies, angels, tetras, catfish, clownfish and gobies, and for LPS corals.
- Not a complete standalone diet for long-term feeding — best rotated with a flake, pellet or other frozen food.
How to thaw and feed
Snap off a portion of the flat pack and thaw it in a little tank water, then feed the thawed shrimp. Ocean Nutrition's own guidance is that thawed frozen food can only be safely refrozen if it still contains ice crystals, or is cold to the touch and has been kept below 7°C for under two hours — once it has thawed fully and warmed past that, feed it or discard it, never refreeze it. Keep the pack frozen between feeds, and move it to your own freezer as soon as it arrives if it starts to soften in transit on a hot day.
Warranty and delivery
As a frozen product this pack ships and must be stored frozen. There's no manufacturer warranty on a food item as such — the applicable guarantee is the consumer guarantee under Australian Consumer Law that the food is of acceptable quality and matches its description. Keep it frozen until use.
Common questions
Can I feed this to LPS corals as well as fish?
Yes — mysis is a common target-feed for LPS corals as well as omnivorous and carnivorous fish, making this pack useful for mixed reef tanks.
Why is this pack so much bigger than the standard size?
This 454g flat pack is a bulk size, well beyond the typical 100–113g retail pack — useful if you're feeding a large system or several tanks and don't want to restock often.
How much should I feed?
Only what your fish will finish within about 5 minutes, 2 to 3 times a day. Remove any uneaten food so it doesn't foul the water.
Can I refreeze a thawed portion?
Only if it still has ice crystals or has stayed below 7°C for under two hours. Once it's fully thawed and warmed past that, feed it or throw it out.
