Red Sea Nitrate Pro Testing Kit 100 Tests
The Nitrate Pro kit is Red Sea's high-resolution colorimetric test for nitrate (NO3) in marine and reef aquariums. Reagents develop colour in a glass vial, matched against a reference card inside a comparator, giving finer resolution than a dip strip without needing a photometer.
Key features
- High resolution – reads nitrate to 0.125 ppm NO3, fine enough to tell an SPS-dominant tank apart from an ultra-low-nutrient system.
- Comparator, not a colour chart – colour is matched inside a comparator against a printed reference card rather than eyeballed under tank lighting.
- Dilution extends the range – diluting the sample with RO water per the instructions extends the usable range up to 64 ppm.
- Refillable – the comparator is reusable and reagents are sold separately as refills.

Target ranges
Red Sea's own published target bands, from its Nutrient Management Program. Red Sea doesn't break these down by community, planted or cichlid setups since this kit is saltwater only – marine fish-only is the closest published equivalent to a FOWLR target.

| Ultra-low nutrient system (ULNS) | 0 ppm |
| SPS-dominant reef | 0.25-0.5 ppm |
| Mixed reef / SPS frag tank | 1-2 ppm |
| Marine fish only (no corals) | Under 10 ppm |

Care and storage
Reagents are stable up to the expiry date printed on each bottle when stored closed at 15-25 degrees Celsius. Keep them in the case supplied, out of direct light, and reseal bottles promptly after use.
Warranty and delivery
The comparator hardware carries Red Sea's standard manufacturer warranty against faults, in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, which are not limited or excluded by it. As a chemical kit for single use per test, it isn't covered for change-of-mind returns once opened.
Common questions
How many tests do I get from one kit?
100 tests. Reagent refills are sold separately so you can keep reusing the same comparator.
Do I need any other equipment to read the result?
No. The kit is read by eye against the reference card inside the comparator, no photometer required.
Can I use this in a freshwater tank?
This kit is formulated and rated for saltwater use. Red Sea doesn't publish specifications for freshwater use with this kit.
