The Red Sea REEFER Peninsula 500 G2+ pairs a 125 x 60 x 60 cm rimless, ultra-clear glass aquarium with a matching black marine-spec cabinet, refined sump, pre-glued plumbing, a built-in RO reservoir and ReefATO+ auto top-off — a 519 L foundation, viewable from three sides, with lighting, return pump and skimmer left for you to choose.

Will it fit my room?
Allow the full 160 cm system height plus ceiling clearance for lid removal, and at least 10 cm of access behind the cabinet for the RO line, sump servicing and cabling. At 519 L, the water alone weighs roughly 519 kg before glass, cabinet, rock and substrate are added. Red Sea doesn't publish a filled weight for this model, so on anything other than a slab or a reinforced ground floor, have the floor checked by a builder or engineer before committing to the position.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suited to experienced reefers upgrading into a larger peninsula display who already have, or specifically want to choose, their own lighting, return pump and skimmer. Not the right listing if you want equipment fitted and matched at purchase — that's the G3 MAX tier at the same 519 L size.
Safety
The ReefATO+ is mains-powered — run it on an RCD-protected circuit with a drip loop on the cable. After fitting your own return pump and plumbing, check the silent-siphon valve setting; an incorrectly set valve can cause overflow noise or a sump overflow in a worst case.
Warranty and delivery
Red Sea's standard manufacturer warranty on REEFER systems is 2 years, extending to 3 years at no cost when the tank is registered within 90 days of purchase, with a further paid extension to 5 years available in some regions — we can confirm current Australian pricing at time of sale. This applies in addition to your consumer guarantee rights under Australian Consumer Law. Expect a two-person kerbside or room-of-choice delivery on this oversized, palletised item — confirm stair or doorway clearance before ordering.
Common questions
Does the 500 G2+ include lighting, a pump or a skimmer?
No. Like the 350 G2+, this is the tank, cabinet, sump, RO reservoir and ReefATO+ only — lighting, a return pump and a protein skimmer are sized and sold separately.
What's different between this and the Peninsula 500 G3 MAX?
Same 519 L tank footprint, but the G3 MAX arrives with ReefLED lighting, ReefWave circulation, a return pump, protein skimmer and ReefMat filter roller already fitted and plumbed. This G2+ version is the platform only.
What's the RO reservoir for?
It's a 22.5 L built-in storage tank for top-up water, feeding the ReefATO+ so you're not sourcing a separate top-up container.
Is the floor a concern at this size?
Worth checking before installation, especially upstairs — the water alone is around 519 kg, before cabinet, glass, rock and sand, and Red Sea doesn't publish a filled weight figure.
Can I run this as a fish-only or FOWLR system instead of a full reef?
Yes — the tank and filtration platform don't dictate stocking. Choose lighting and skimming to suit whatever you're keeping rather than assuming reef-spec equipment is required.
