Red Sea Reefer Peninsula 500 G3 Max White - 519L
One box for lighting, flow, filtration and skimming, on a 519 L peninsula display viewable from three sides. The Red Sea REEFER Peninsula 500 G3 MAX pairs a 125 x 63.5 x 60 cm rimless, ultra-clear glass aquarium with a matching white cabinet and Red Sea's G3 sump, plumbing, ReefLED lighting, ReefWave circulation, a DC return pump, protein skimmer, filter roller and auto top-off — already fitted, plumbed and running under Red Sea's ReefBeat app. It suits a reefer setting up a large, feature-complete peninsula display without sourcing and matching equipment separately.
Key features
- 519 L total system volume — 412 L display over a 106.6 L sump, so dosing and bioload capacity scale with the display.
- Twin ReefLED G2 170 lighting — 340 W combined, on pendant hanging kits and a shared suspension system rather than back-wall arms, suited to a peninsula with no rear glass to mount from.
- Twin ReefWave 45 gyre pumps — up to 3,960 GPH (roughly 15,000 L/h) combined at the pump face, for wide, low-turbulence flow across a display viewed from three sides.
- ReefRun G2 8000 DC return pump — app-controlled and paired with its own ReefRun controller.
- REEFER DC 600 protein skimmer and ReefMat 1200 filter roller — protein export and mechanical filtration handled from day one, with the roller cutting weekly sock washing to occasional roll changes.
- ReefATO+ auto top-off — temperature monitoring and an external leak detector built in.
- 60 cm slide-out control panel — keeps controllers and cabling accessible without crawling into the cabinet.
What's included
- REEFER Peninsula 500 G3 MAX display aquarium and matching white cabinet
- Sump with pre-glued plumbing and 60 cm slide-out control panel
- 2 x ReefLED G2 170 lighting with pendant hanging kits and suspension system
- 2 x ReefWave 45 gyre circulation pumps
- ReefRun G2 8000 DC return pump and controller
- REEFER DC 600 protein skimmer
- ReefMat 1200 automatic filter roller
- ReefATO+ auto top-off, with temperature monitor and leak detector
Not included
- Heater and any temperature controller — sized separately to your room's ambient temperature
- Chiller, for rooms where ambient heat pushes the tank above a safe reef temperature
- Dosing pump system, for two-part or trace element dosing beyond water changes
- RO/DI unit and saltwater mix — the tank ships dry
- Live rock, sand or aquascape, and livestock
- Test kits and a phone or Wi-Fi network for the ReefBeat app
This is the MAX tier: lighting, return pump, gyre flow, skimmer and filter roller are already fitted. The standard (non-MAX) Peninsula 500 G2+ ships as the aquarium, cabinet and plumbed sump only, with none of the above equipment — worth checking which listing you're comparing on price, since they're different purchases.

Will it fit my room?
Allow ceiling clearance above the cabinet for the pendant lighting's suspension system as well as lid access, and at least 10 cm behind the cabinet for return plumbing, the ATO line and cabling. At 519 L this is a floor-loading item: water alone weighs roughly 519 kg before the glass, cabinet, rock, substrate and the equipment itself are added. Red Sea doesn't publish a filled weight for this model, so on an upper floor or a bearer-and-joist subfloor, get it checked by a builder or engineer before committing to a position.
Which one do I need?
| Model | Total volume | Lighting, pump, skimmer | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Peninsula 350 G2+ | 352 L | Not included — choose your own | Smaller footprint, build-your-own equipment |
| Peninsula 500 G2+ | 519 L | Not included — choose your own | Same size as this model, equipment sold separately |
| Peninsula 500 G3 MAX | 519 L | Included and pre-plumbed | A complete, running system straight out of the box |
Performance
The ReefWave 45 pumps are rated at up to 3,960 GPH (roughly 15,000 L/h) combined at the pump face in gyre mode — actual in-tank flow depends on rock placement and pump aim, as with any powerhead. Red Sea has not published a head-loss curve for the ReefRun G2 8000 return pump used in this package, so treat the headline figure as a best case at zero head; expect less once it's pushing water up through the drain plumbing and skimmer. Red Sea's published PAR-at-depth data for the ReefLED G2 170 wasn't sourced for this listing — ask us for the manufacturer's PAR chart if you're planning coral placement by depth rather than going on the wattage figure alone.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suited to reefers who want a large peninsula display with lighting, flow, skimming and mechanical filtration matched and pre-plumbed rather than assembled component by component. Not the right starting point for a first marine tank — there's no dosing, heating or RO/DI provision, and a 519 L system carries a proportionally larger cycling, dosing and top-up workload than a nano or standard-size reef.
Care and maintenance
The ReefMat roller reduces mechanical filtration to periodic roll changes rather than weekly sock washing; skimmer cup emptying and gyre pump impeller cleaning remain routine tasks. Budget for ReefMat roll refills and skimmer neck cleaning as the main consumables.
Safety
All included electrical equipment is mains-powered — run it through an RCD-protected circuit, with drip loops on every cable entering the cabinet. Check the sump's silent-siphon valve after any plumbing disturbance; an incorrectly set valve can cause overflow noise or, in a worst case, a sump overflow.
Warranty and delivery
Red Sea's standard manufacturer warranty on REEFER systems is 2 years, extending to 3 years at no cost when registered within 90 days of purchase, with a further paid extension to 5 years available in some regions — we'll confirm current Australian pricing at time of sale. This applies in addition to your consumer guarantee rights under Australian Consumer Law. Expect a two-person kerbside or room-of-choice delivery on this oversized, palletised item — confirm stair or doorway clearance before ordering.
Common questions
What's the difference between this and the standard Peninsula 500 G2+?
The standard Peninsula 500 G2+ is the aquarium, cabinet and plumbed sump only. This MAX version adds ReefLED lighting, ReefWave circulation, the return pump, protein skimmer and filter roller already fitted — a complete running system rather than a tank you still need to equip.
Do I still need a heater?
Yes. Heating isn't included in either Peninsula 500 package tier — size a heater or heater pair to 519 L and your room's typical low ambient temperature.
How is the lighting mounted, since it's a peninsula with no back wall?
On pendant hanging kits from a shared ceiling suspension system rather than the arm mounts used on Red Sea's straight-wall REEFER tanks.
Can the lighting and pumps run without Wi-Fi?
They'll continue on their last saved programme, but scheduling, ramping and remote monitoring through ReefBeat need a Wi-Fi connection.
Is the floor under this tank a concern?
At 519 L, yes — worth checking with a builder or engineer, particularly on an upper floor. Red Sea doesn't publish a filled weight for this model; the water alone is around 519 kg before cabinet, glass, rock and sand.
Does this include a dosing system?
No. A dosing pump system for two-part or trace elements is sold separately and isn't part of either Peninsula 500 package tier.
