This is the Deluxe package – the aquarium, cabinet, sump and lighting, with the auto top-off fitted. It does not carry the return pump, gyre circulation, skimmer or filter roller that Red Sea fits on a REEFER MAX package; those are a separate, higher tier and a different purchase again.

Allow the full 165 cm system height plus ceiling clearance for the pendant lights and lid removal, and clear access on at least one open end given the three-sided viewing format. Red Sea does not publish an empty or filled weight for this model. As a guide, the 705 L of water alone weighs roughly 705 kg before the glass, cabinet, rock and substrate are added – the true filled weight is meaningfully higher again. At this volume, get the floor checked by a builder or engineer before it goes in, particularly on an upper floor.

The S-700 sits between the compact 350 and the flagship S-950 – Euro-braced glass and three ReefLED fixtures give it enough lit width for a genuine SPS display, at a footprint that fits most rooms the S-950 won't.

Suited to an established reefer building a large peninsula SPS or mixed-reef display who wants lighting matched and pre-plumbed, and is comfortable sourcing flow, skimming and dosing separately. Not the right starting point for a first marine tank: there's no return pump, skimming, heating or dosing provision, and a 705 L system carries a proportionally larger cycling and top-up workload than a standard-size tank.

The ReefATO+ reservoir needs regular topping up and its float/optical sensor kept clear. Without a filter roller or skimmer fitted, mechanical and protein filtration depend entirely on whichever equipment you add – budget for that maintenance separately.

Included electrical equipment (lighting, ATO pump) is mains-powered – run it through an RCD-protected circuit and keep drip loops on every cable entering the cabinet.

This Deluxe package is the aquarium, cabinet, sump and ReefLED lighting only. The MAX tier adds a return pump, gyre circulation pumps, protein skimmer and automatic filter roller already fitted – it's a complete running system rather than a display you still need to equip for flow and filtration.

How does the S-700 compare to the smaller 350?

The S-700 carries Euro-braced glass and 568 L of display volume against the 350's rimless 278 L – nearly double the lit width and enough sump capacity to support a heavier SPS bioload.

Do I still need a heater?
