This is the Deluxe package – the aquarium, cabinet, sump and lighting, with the auto top-off fitted. It does not carry the return pump, gyre circulation, skimmer or filter roller that Red Sea fits on a REEFER MAX package; those are a separate, higher tier and a different purchase again.

At 199.9 cm long, allow generous clearance at both ends for the three-sided viewing format, plus the full 165 cm system height and ceiling clearance for the pendant lights and lid removal. Red Sea does not publish an empty or filled weight for this model. As a guide, the 948 L of water alone weighs roughly 948 kg before the glass, cabinet, rock and substrate are added – the true filled weight is meaningfully higher again. This is the largest system in the Peninsula range: get the floor checked by a builder or engineer before it goes in, and don't rely on a standard suspended timber floor without that check.

The S-950 is the flagship: the longest display, the deepest sump and the only size with four ReefLED fixtures fitted. It's the right step up from the S-700 only where the room genuinely has the length and the floor to take it.

Suited to an experienced reefer building the largest peninsula display Red Sea offers, with the room length, ceiling height and floor rating to support it. Not the right starting point for a first marine tank, and not a sensible choice without confirming floor loading first – there's no return pump, skimming, heating or dosing provision, and a 948 L system carries the heaviest cycling, dosing and top-up workload in the range.

The ReefATO+ reservoir needs regular topping up and its float/optical sensor kept clear. Without a filter roller or skimmer fitted, mechanical and protein filtration depend entirely on whichever equipment you add – budget for that maintenance separately, and expect it to scale with the tank's size.

Included electrical equipment (lighting, ATO pump) is mains-powered – run it through an RCD-protected circuit and keep drip loops on every cable entering the cabinet.

Covered by Red Sea's manufacturer warranty – 3 years standard, extending to 5 years with product registration – which applies in addition to your consumer guarantee rights under Australian Consumer Law. This is an oversized, heavy item shipped assembled or part-assembled on a pallet – expect a two-person kerbside or room-of-choice delivery depending on access, and confirm stair or doorway clearance before ordering.

What's the difference between this and the REEFER MAX Peninsula S-950?

This Deluxe package is the aquarium, cabinet, sump and ReefLED lighting only. The MAX tier adds a return pump, gyre circulation pumps, protein skimmer and automatic filter roller already fitted – it's a complete running system rather than a display you still need to equip for flow and filtration.

Is the S-950 worth it over the S-700?

Only if the room has the extra 49 cm of length and the floor is rated for it – the S-950 adds 243 L of total volume and a fourth ReefLED fixture over the S-700, but the footprint and weight step up accordingly.

Do I still need a heater?

Yes. Heating isn't included on any Peninsula S-950 package tier – size a heater or heater pair to 948 L and your room's typical low ambient temperature.

Is the floor under this tank a concern?

At 948 L total volume, yes – this is the heaviest system in the Peninsula range and should be checked by a builder or engineer before installation, particularly on anything other than a slab. Red Sea doesn't publish a filled weight for this model; the water alone is around 948 kg before cabinet, glass, rock and sand are added.
