Red Sea Reefwave 25 Impeller Cage Set
A cracked impeller cage is a five-minute swap, not a callout. This is the genuine Red Sea impeller cage set (part number R35235) for the ReefWave 25 gyre wavemaker — it does not fit the larger ReefWave 45, which uses its own cage set (R35246). The cage clips over the impeller inside the pump body, protecting it from grit and giving the gyre cross-flow its shape. Replace it once it cracks, clouds with age, or stops seating flush after cleaning.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suited to anyone servicing a ReefWave 25 whose cage has cracked, clouded, or gone missing after a clean. Not the fix for a pump that has gone weak or noisy on its own — that's almost always the impeller or motor assembly, since a cracked cage rarely changes flow output by itself.
Care and maintenance
Red Sea's manual calls for the impeller and cage to be disassembled and cleaned monthly — soak in a 10% household bleach solution (one part bleach to nine parts water) or scrub under running water with a soft brush. Switch the pump off at the app or controller, and unplug the power supply, before opening it up.
Safety
The ReefWave's mounting magnets are strong enough to cause a pinch injury and can affect medical implants — keep the outer magnet at least 30 cm from anyone with a pacemaker or similar device, and mind fingers when the pump is apart.

Most often replaced alongside the impeller set and rotor shaft/magnet at the same service, or fitted together as part of Red Sea's ReefWave 25 Service Pack, which bundles the routine wear parts in one box.
Warranty and delivery
Covered by Red Sea's 24-month warranty against manufacturing defects, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law — though Red Sea's warranty terms name impellers, rotor shafts, bushings and rubber parts as normal wear items, so a cage that's simply aged out isn't a warranty claim.
