Cleans pests, algae film and shipping slime off new corals before they go anywhere near your display tank. ReVive Coral Cleaner is a 500 mL dip solution developed by Julian Sprung for Two Little Fishies, based on plant extracts rather than harsh chemicals. It is mixed fresh for each dip and used as a short bath for stony corals, soft corals, zoanthids and anemones — not dosed into aquarium water.

Key features
  • Plant-extract formula — active constituents are declared as oleum abietis (0.5%) and citrus limon (0.5%), rather than an undisclosed "proprietary blend".
  • Dips, doesn't dose — mixed in a separate container of aged seawater and used once, so it never touches your main system water.
  • Fast enough for a quarantine routine — a full dip runs from a few minutes up to 15 minutes.
  • Repeatable dosing ratio — 500 mL mixes to the standard 4-capfuls-per-gallon dose for multiple dipping sessions; see Dosage below for the exact ratio.

Ingredients

Declared active constituents, as stated by the manufacturer: oleum abietis 0.5%, citrus limon 0.5%. The remainder of the formula is a plant-extract based cleansing solution; Two Little Fishies does not publish a full inert-ingredient breakdown beyond these two declared actives.

Dosage and directions
  • Mix 4 capfuls of ReVive per US gallon (3.8 L) of clean, aged seawater in a separate dip container — never in the display or quarantine tank itself.
  • Immerse the coral or anemone in the mixed solution for several minutes, up to 15 minutes maximum.
  • Gently swirl the coral or agitate the solution with an airstone during the dip to work debris and pests loose.
  • Move the coral to its aquarium in an area of moderate flow afterward.
  • Discard the used dip solution after one hour — do not reuse or store a mixed batch.
Cost per litre

Two Little Fishies states the dose as 4 capfuls per US gallon of dip solution but does not publish the volume of a "capful", so the number of dips one 500 mL bottle yields — and the resulting cost per litre of dip solution — can't be calculated from manufacturer data. We haven't published a figure rather than guess one.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
  • Suitable for: new stony corals, soft corals, zoanthid colonies and anemones, before they go into a display or quarantine system.
  • Suitable for: rinsing frags at the point of fragging, and rinsing corals prior to shipping or trading.
  • Not suitable for: dosing into display or quarantine tank water — it is a standalone dip solution only.
  • Not suitable for: fish, invertebrates other than the coral itself, or as a substitute for proper quarantine.
Safety

For cleaning live corals and anemones only. Mix in a container kept separate from your display and quarantine systems, and discard the used solution after an hour rather than topping it up or reusing it the next day.

Warranty and delivery

Backed by the consumer guarantees set out in the Australian Consumer Law, in addition to any manufacturer support. Standard freight — this is a small liquid bottle under the 1 L threshold that triggers dangerous-goods freight handling.

Goes well with
  • A dedicated dip or quarantine container kept separate from display and sump water
  • An airstone, for agitating the dip solution during treatment
  • Coral frag glue or epoxy putty, for reattaching cleaned frags once they're back in the tank
Common questions

Can I dose ReVive straight into my tank?

No. ReVive is mixed in a separate container and used as a bath for the coral only; it is not designed to be added to display or sump water.

How long should I leave a coral in the dip?

Two Little Fishies recommends several minutes up to a maximum of 15 minutes, with gentle agitation from swirling or an airstone.

Can I reuse the mixed solution for the next coral?

The manufacturer's directions say to discard the mixed solution after one hour, so a single batch should be used for one dipping session rather than kept for later.

What's actually in ReVive?

The declared active constituents are oleum abietis (0.5%) and citrus limon (0.5%) — a plant-extract formula rather than an iodine- or chemical-based dip.

Will ReVive harm the coral itself?

It's formulated specifically for live coral and anemone tissue as a cleansing dip; keep to the stated concentration and dip time rather than a stronger mix.
