Each of the four pump heads docks onto the Base Station rail and draws power from it, so there's one mains lead for the whole kit rather than four. Reagents are scheduled independently through the Mobius app in Auto, Continuous or Manual mode, and each pump can run up to 30 separate dosing events a day – useful for splitting a large daily alkalinity dose into several smaller ones to reduce pH swings.

Suitable for: reef systems dosing two to four reagents (calcium, alkalinity, magnesium, trace elements) on independent schedules, and anyone wanting to consolidate multiple single dosing pumps onto one power supply. Not suitable for: single-reagent setups – a single Versa Dosing Pump is cheaper and doesn't need the Base Station.

At its rated 60 W draw, run continuously the kit uses roughly 526 kWh a year – about $158 annually at a 30c/kWh tariff. In practice, dosing pumps run in short bursts rather than continuously, so actual draw and cost will typically be well below this ceiling figure.

Peristaltic dosing pumps wear at the tubing that's compressed by the rotor, not the pump body. Budget to replace dosing lines periodically rather than expecting the original tubing to last indefinitely, particularly on the reagent lines dosing daily.

Can I add a fifth pump to this kit?

Not to the same Base Station – it docks a maximum of four pumps. A fifth reagent would need a second Base Station or a standalone Versa Dosing Pump running on its own power supply.

Do I need four separate reservoirs?

Yes, one dosing container per reagent. The kit doses whatever you connect each pump to; it doesn't include containers.

How precise is the dosing, really?

EcoTech states 2% accuracy or better, with doses as small as 6 µL a minute available – precise enough for daily reef dosing without needing to compensate for pump drift.

What happens if the Base Station loses power?

All four pumps stop dosing until power is restored, since they draw from the one supply. There's no battery backup built into the kit.

Can I run all four pumps on different schedules?

Yes. Each pump is scheduled independently through the Mobius app – sharing a power rail doesn't mean sharing a dosing schedule.
