Zoo Med Repti Calcium with D3
Reptiles fed only calcium without D3 often can't use it. Zoo Med Repti Calcium with D3 pairs a phosphorus-free calcium carbonate base with added vitamin D3, the form reptiles need to actually absorb the calcium they're dusted with. It's built for regular use on feeder insects, salad and other foods, and comes in two jar sizes so you can match it to your feeding routine.
Key features
- Precipitated calcium carbonate base — a highly bioavailable form the body absorbs efficiently.
- Phosphorus-free — keeps the calcium-to-phosphorus balance where reptiles need it, rather than adding phosphorus your pet doesn't need.
- Added vitamin D3 — supports calcium absorption in animals with limited or inconsistent UVB exposure.
- Ultra-fine powder — clings to feeder insects and vegetables rather than shaking straight off.
- Two jar sizes — 85 g for smaller collections, 226 g for households running through it faster.

How to use
Lightly dust feeder insects, leafy greens or other foods immediately before offering them, so the powder doesn't settle off. Many keepers dust at every feed for growing or breeding animals, and reduce to two or three times a week for adults on a varied diet — check feeding guidance for your particular species, since needs vary widely across reptiles and amphibians.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for reptiles and amphibians dusted with calcium as part of a varied diet. Not a substitute for a properly set up UVB lighting system — dietary vitamin D3 supplements, rather than replaces, UVB exposure for species that need it. If your animal already receives strong UVB and a D3-inclusive diet, alternating with a D3-free calcium powder avoids stacking D3 from multiple sources.
Goes well with
Pairs with a multivitamin supplement used on a separate rotation, and with a properly rated UVB lamp for species that require ultraviolet exposure rather than dietary D3 alone.

Common questions
Do I need this if my reptile already has a UVB light?
Many keepers still dust periodically, since UVB output varies with bulb age and distance from the animal. Reduce dusting frequency rather than stopping altogether, and consider a D3-free calcium for most feeds if UVB coverage is strong and consistent.
Can I use this on vegetables as well as insects?
Yes. The fine powder clings to damp leafy greens as well as to feeder insects.
What's the difference between the two jar sizes?
Same formula in both — the 226 g jar is the better-value option if you're feeding regularly or keeping more than one animal.
Is this safe to use every day?
It's designed for regular dusting. Follow feeding guidance for your specific species, since calcium and D3 needs vary and over-supplementation is possible if multiple D3 sources are combined without a plan.
