Installation
Wrap the cable around branches or cage furniture, or run it beneath the enclosure or under substrate to create a warm zone. Secure it with heat-resistant tape rather than ordinary tape. Keep the cable itself out of direct contact with animals — it's a heat source for the enclosure, not something for an animal to rest directly on.

Use with a thermostat or rheostat, which Zoo Med recommends particularly where room temperature runs at 27°C (80°F) or above — without one, a heat cable left on a fixed high setting can overheat an enclosure. Suitable for creating warm zones or belly heat in terrariums and vivariums within its recommended size range.
