Mag-Float is the patented floating magnet cleaner, and floating matters more than it sounds. The inner scrubber sits inside the tank and the outer handle guides it across the glass, but when the two separate the inner piece bobs to the surface instead of sinking into the sand, where fishing it out risks trapping grit that scratches the glass. Ours is the glass version in three sizes, each rated to a glass thickness: Long up to 10 millimetres, Large up to 16 and Large+ up to 20. Replacement scraper blades are sold for the Small and Long, and for the Large and Large+.
Change a scraper as soon as the edge picks up a nick, since a chipped blade can scratch the glass, and rinse both halves if sand gets between them.
