Minibeasts Insects in a Pellet is a dry food made from Australian grown, freeze dried insects. Crickets, mealworms, woodies (a feeder cockroach) and king mealworms lead the ingredient list, with soybean, spirulina, wheat, vitamins and minerals making up the pellet. We list the 125 gram pack as a fish and turtle food, and Minibeasts sells the same pellet for bearded dragons and blue tongues, so it suits most animals that eat insects: freshwater turtles, larger cichlids and natives, and skinks and dragons as a dry backup to live feeders. It does not replace live insects dusted with calcium for a growing lizard, but it gets insect protein into an animal on days the cricket tub is empty.
Soak a pinch before feeding fish and turtles so it softens and sinks to where they eat.
