Teco chillers are made by TECO, a refrigeration company founded in 1988 near Ravenna in northern Italy, and they are how a Brisbane reef or planted tank gets through summer. The compact TK150 is rated for tanks up to 150 litres, and the R290 range covers the TK500, TK1000 and TK2000. R290 is a natural refrigerant with a very low climate impact, and Teco was an early adopter of it. Each chiller uses a titanium heat exchanger, which is safe in salt or fresh water. The Nnect WiFi module connects a compatible Teco chiller to the Teco app, so you can check the temperature and get alerts on your phone.
A chiller needs room to breathe, so give the vents clear air outside a closed cabinet, and size it to the heat from your pumps and lights as well as the water volume. Talk to us about which model fits.
