Aqua Medic pH 7 Test Fluid 60ml

A pH probe is only as accurate as its last calibration. This 60 ml bottle of Aqua Medic pH 7 buffer solution gives your probe a true, known reference point at the neutral end of the scale, so every reading that follows is one you can trust. It is designed for use with Aqua Medic's own pH Monitor, pH Computer Set and compatible BNC pH probes, and works equally well with most third-party meters and controllers.

Key features
  • Neutral reference point - pH 7 buffer solution lets your probe confirm the mid-point of its scale before you calibrate the high or low end.
  • 60 ml bottle - enough for several calibration cycles before you need a refill.
  • Two-point calibration partner - use alongside Aqua Medic's pH 9 fluid (sold separately) to calibrate across the range a reef or planted tank actually sits in.

Suitable for, and not suitable for

Suitable for: calibrating any BNC-style pH probe, including Aqua Medic's pH Monitor and pH Computer Set, most third-party pH controllers, and handheld pH meters.

Not suitable for: drinking, dosing into livestock water, or use as a general water conditioner - this is a calibration reference fluid only.

Care and maintenance

Keep the bottle capped between uses and discard fluid that has been poured into a calibration cup once used - do not return it to the bottle, as this contaminates the reference solution. Aqua Medic recommends recalibrating a working probe roughly every four weeks to keep control and monitoring equipment accurate.

Warranty and delivery

As a single-use test consumable, this fluid is not covered by a manufacturer warranty, but your purchase is protected by the consumer guarantees available under Australian Consumer Law. This item ships as a standard small parcel with no special freight handling required.

Common questions

How often should I recalibrate my pH probe?

Aqua Medic recommends recalibrating roughly every four weeks, and immediately after replacing a probe or if readings start to drift.

Can I use pH 7 fluid on its own?

A single-point calibration with pH 7 fluid confirms your probe's zero point, but a two-point calibration - using pH 7 and pH 9 fluid together - gives a more accurate result across the pH range your tank actually runs in.

Is this the same as pH 4 buffer solution sold by other brands?

No - Aqua Medic's reef-focused range pairs pH 7 with pH 9, rather than the pH 4/pH 7 pairing common on freshwater-only meters, because reef and marine tanks run well above pH 7.
