Bioscape CO2 Diffuser
Turns raw CO2 into a fine, plant-usable mist. The Bioscape CO2 Diffuser is a stainless steel diffuser fitted with a removable sintered glass disc, built to break CO2 gas into bubbles fine enough to dissolve into the water column instead of rising straight to the surface and venting off. It connects to any CO2-producing device, and suits both the Bioscape CO2 Reactor with On/Off Valve (ARI10) and the CO2 Reactor with Solenoid and Diffuser (ARI11) – though the ARI11 already ships with one.
Key features
- Sintered glass diffuser disc – breaks CO2 into fine bubbles that have time to dissolve before reaching the surface, rather than large bubbles that pop and escape to the air.
- Stainless steel body – resists corrosion in the humid, splash-prone environment around a planted tank.
- Disc removes for cleaning – take it out when bubbles start looking coarser than usual, which is the first sign the sinter is clogging.
- Works with any CO2 source – not locked to Bioscape's own reactors; connects to any CO2-producing device with compatible tubing.
- Fills the gap for On/Off Valve owners – Bioscape's Reactor with Solenoid and Diffuser (ARI11) already includes a diffuser; this unit is for On/Off Valve (ARI10) owners, or as a spare for either model.
Specifications

| Body material | Stainless steel |
| Diffuser element | Sintered glass disc, removable for cleaning |
| Compatibility | Any CO2-producing device with compatible tubing, including Bioscape ARI10 and ARI11 reactors |
Bioscape has not published a fitting or thread size for the tubing connection, or a rated bubble-per-minute output – check tubing diameter against your existing setup before ordering if you're not running a Bioscape reactor.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
- Suitable for: freshwater and marine planted systems already running a CO2 source – a reagent reactor, a pressurised cylinder, or any other CO2-producing device.
- Not suitable for: tanks with no CO2 supply of their own – this is a diffuser, not a CO2 source, and does nothing on its own.
Care and maintenance
The sintered glass disc is removable, so it can be taken out and inspected when bubble size gets noticeably coarser or flow seems to drop. Bioscape has not published a specific cleaning method beyond the disc being removable.
Warranty and delivery
Covered by your consumer guarantee rights under Australian Consumer Law if it arrives faulty. Ships as a small parcel.
Common questions
Does this include a CO2 source?
No. It's a diffuser only, and needs to be connected to a reactor like the Bioscape ARI10 or ARI11, or another CO2-producing device.
Do I need this if I already have the ARI11 reactor?
No. The ARI11 ships with its own diffuser included. This is for ARI10 (on/off valve) owners, or as a spare for either reactor.
Will it work with a pressurised CO2 cylinder system, not just Bioscape's reagent reactors?
Yes. It connects to any CO2-producing device with compatible tubing, not only Bioscape's own units.
How do I know when it needs cleaning?
When the bubbles it produces look noticeably coarser than when it was new, or flow through it seems to have dropped.
