Bioscape CO2 Solenoid/Bubble Counter Set
Automate CO2 injection and watch it work, in one low-voltage set. The Bioscape CO2 Solenoid/Bubble Counter Set adds an electronic on/off valve and a built-in bubble counter to a Bioscape CO2 Reactor system, so CO2 only flows when your lights are on and you can see exactly how fast it's dosing.
Key features
- 12V solenoid valve — runs on safe low-voltage power rather than mains voltage at the valve itself.
- Wires to a light timer — the solenoid switches the CO2 supply off overnight with your lighting, so you're not dosing gas into a dark, non-photosynthesising tank.
- Built-in bubble counter — lets you see and count bubbles per second, so you can set and check your CO2 rate at a glance instead of guessing.
- Indicator light — shows at a glance whether the solenoid is open and CO2 is flowing.

Bioscape has not published a wattage figure, thread/fitting size or a separate pressure rating for the solenoid and bubble counter themselves. The Bioscape CO2 Reactor system this set is built for runs at 10–20 kg/cm² internally, per Bioscape's own manual — that figure describes the reactor, not a rating we can confirm for this valve.
Setup, use, dosing or feeding
Fit the bubble counter in line between the reactor and your diffuser, and top it up with water so bubbles are visible as they pass through. Wire the solenoid into a power outlet controlled by your aquarium light timer so CO2 injection tracks your photoperiod automatically.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
- Suitable for: automating and monitoring CO2 flow on a Bioscape CO2 Reactor system for planted freshwater aquariums.
- Not suitable for: mains-voltage wiring work — always plug the solenoid into a standard outlet or timer rather than hard-wiring it, and don't force the valve open or closed by hand.
Safety
Bioscape's manual describes the solenoid valve as a delicate instrument that can be damaged if forced or handled roughly. Handle it gently and let the timer, not manual force, do the switching.
Care and maintenance
Keep the bubble counter's water topped up so bubbles stay visible, and check the indicator light periodically to confirm the solenoid is opening on schedule.
Warranty and delivery
Any fault on arrival is covered under your consumer guarantee rights under Australian Consumer Law. Ships as a small parcel.
Common questions
Does this fit any CO2 system, or only Bioscape's?
It's built for the Bioscape CO2 Reactor system (ARI10/ARI11). We can't confirm fitment to other brands' reactors or regulators.
Is 12V safe to wire myself?
The solenoid itself runs on 12V low-voltage power. It still plugs into a standard powerpoint or timer to be powered — if you're not comfortable with that wiring, ask an electrician or your local Bioscape stockist.
Do I need the solenoid, or is the bubble counter enough on its own?
The bubble counter alone lets you see your CO2 rate but won't turn gas off overnight. The solenoid is what stops CO2 flowing when your lights and timer switch off.
