Bioscape PRO Easy Clean Canister Filter with Heater
One canister that filters and heats, in three sizes. The Bioscape PRO Easy Clean Canister Filter with Heater combines external canister filtration and an integrated heater in one unit, sized across three flow rates – 1,050 L/h, 1,620 L/h and 2,000 L/h – rated for tanks up to 250 L, 400 L and 600 L respectively. Media, hoses and the heater are all built into the one canister, so there's no separate in-tank heater to place.
Key features
- Integrated heater – a 200 W heater on the 1,050 L/h model, or 300 W on the 1,620 and 2,000 L/h models, runs inside the canister itself, so there's nothing extra sitting in the display.
- Self-priming – starts drawing water without manual pumping or siphoning to get flow going.
- Five-stage media set included – pre-filter wool, foam, activated carbon, ceramic noodles and bio-balls ship with every size, covering mechanical, chemical and biological filtration in one pass.
- Easy-clean pre-filter – a removable pre-filter stage catches coarse debris before it reaches the main media, for a faster routine clean.
- Sized to three tank ranges – the canister scales with the tank rather than being one-size-fits-all.

Bioscape publishes the pump's rated flow, not flow with media loaded – as with any canister filter, expect real-world flow to run below the rated figure once the media baskets are full. Noise level and head height aren't published for this model either.
Which size do I need?
Match the model to your tank's actual volume, not just its footprint. The 1,050 L/h suits tanks up to 250 L, the 1,620 L/h up to 400 L, and the 2,000 L/h up to 600 L. If your tank sits near the top of a model's range, or you're running a heavier bioload, sizing up gives more margin – an oversized canister filters more thoroughly than an undersized one working at its limit.
What's included / what's not included
Included: canister body, integrated heater (200 W or 300 W depending on model), pre-filter wool, foam, activated carbon, ceramic noodles and bio-balls, hoses and fittings sized to the model's hose diameter, easy-clean pre-filter stage.
Not included: a separate in-tank heater – heating is built into the canister, so you don't need to also buy a standalone Bioscape PRO Electronic Heater unless you specifically want backup heating. Also not included: substrate, livestock, and replacement media beyond the initial fill.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for freshwater aquariums up to the model's rated volume, and for anyone wanting filtration and heating from a single unit under the cabinet rather than two separate devices. Bioscape doesn't specifically confirm marine/saltwater compatibility for this combined filter-and-heater unit – ask us to check before running it on a reef or marine fish-only system.
Not suitable for tanks well over the top model's 600 L rating, or for anyone who wants the heater's temperature control run completely independently of the filter – Bioscape's specifications don't detail whether the two functions share one control path.
Care and maintenance
Rinse media in removed tank water rather than tap water during services, to protect the bacteria colony living in it. Use the easy-clean pre-filter stage for frequent quick cleans, and reserve a full media service for less often.
Safety
This is a mains-powered unit with an integrated heater. Bioscape's canister filter specifications don't restate the voltage separately from the standalone heater range, so we haven't listed one here – check the rating plate on the unit itself. Keep the canister and any external cabling clear of standing water.
Warranty and delivery
Covered by Bioscape's 2-year warranty, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. This is a larger, heavier box than a standalone filter or heater – check delivery access, particularly for the 2,000 L/h model.
Common questions
Do I need a separate heater as well?
No – heating is built into the canister. Running a second, separate heater alongside it isn't necessary, and Bioscape doesn't detail dual-heater compatibility, so we'd suggest running just the one unless you specifically want built-in redundancy.
Which size do I need for my tank?
Match to the rated volumes – 250 L, 400 L or 600 L per model – and size up if you're running a heavy bioload.
Does it need priming to start?
No. All three sizes are self-priming.
What media does it ship with?
Pre-filter wool, foam, activated carbon, ceramic noodles and bio-balls, covering mechanical, chemical and biological filtration.
Can I run it on a marine tank?
Bioscape doesn't specifically confirm marine compatibility for this combined filter-and-heater model. Check with us before running it on a saltwater system.
