Bioscape Queen Conch Shell 22cm
A hand-finished resin replica of a queen conch shell, sized to work as a standalone centrepiece or a fish hideaway. The Bioscape Queen Conch Shell is a 22cm ornament cast and hand-painted to reproduce the ridged, spiralling form and flared lip of a real queen conch, with a hollow interior fish and shrimp can shelter in.
Key features
- Large single centrepiece – at 22cm it reads as a feature piece rather than a background ornament, on its own or grouped with smaller shells.
- Hollow shelter cavity – the shell's natural spiral shape leaves a hideaway space fish and shrimp can use.
- Hand-painted resin – cast and finished by hand using non-toxic materials, so colour and texture vary slightly piece to piece.
- Freshwater and marine safe – being resin rather than a natural calcium carbonate shell, it won't dissolve or affect pH and hardness over time.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for freshwater and marine aquariums as a decorative centrepiece or shelter. Not a natural shell, so it won't slowly buffer pH or add hardness the way a real calcareous shell can – if you're specifically after that effect, this ornament won't provide it.
Care and maintenance
Rinse thoroughly under running water before adding it to the tank to clear any manufacturing dust or loose resin particles. No soaking or curing is required – it's inert and won't leach into the water column.
Warranty and delivery
Covered against manufacturing defects under Bioscape's warranty, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Common questions
Is this a real shell or a replica?
It's a hand-painted resin replica cast in the shape of a queen conch shell, not a natural shell.
Will it affect my water chemistry?
No – because it's resin rather than natural calcium carbonate shell, it's inert and won't raise pH or hardness over time.
Is it reef safe?
Bioscape markets it as safe for both freshwater and marine setups. As with any new ornament in a sensitive reef system, rinse it well and introduce it gradually if you're being cautious.
Does it float or sink?
It sinks and sits in place on the substrate; no gluing or weighting down is needed for normal use.
