Suitable as the main filter on a freshwater or planted aquarium where you want to choose your own media and fittings. Bioscape does not state whether it is suited to saltwater, so ask us before using it on a marine tank. Budget for inlet and outlet fittings to suit your tank, as they are not in the box. Bioscape does not publish a recommended tank size.

Set the intake at least 10 cm above the substrate (the gravel or sand) so it does not draw substrate into the filter. Rinse sponges in old tank water rather than tap water so the beneficial bacteria survive, and check the seal ring each time the canister is opened.

Keep the 12 V adapter above the water line and clear of splash, plugged into an RCD (safety switch) protected outlet, and never run the pump dry.
