Eco Tech Dimming Day/Night Reptile Thermostat
Dims the heat source instead of switching it off entirely. The Eco Tech Dimming Day/Night Reptile Thermostat holds a set temperature between 0°C and 50°C to within ±1°C, and unlike a simple on/off thermostat it dims the connected heat source as it approaches target temperature, which reduces element wear on globes and lets you run different day and night settings.
Key features
- Electronic dimming control – eases the heat source down rather than cutting it off, extending globe life
- Day/night function – set different temperatures for day and night rather than one fixed target
- 0–50°C range, ±1°C accuracy – an NTC sensor reads and holds the set temperature
- Works with most common heat sources – heat globes, heat mats, heat cables, rock heaters and ceramic heat emitters
- Over-temperature alarm – sounds if the reading drifts outside your set tolerance

Which Eco Tech thermostat do I need?
| Model | Control style | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Eco Tech EZY SET | Simple on/off – heats until target is reached, then cuts out | Straightforward setups where basic overheating protection is enough |
| Eco Tech Dimming Day/Night | Dims the heat source instead of switching it off, with separate day and night targets | Setups where you want to reduce globe wear, or want day and night temperatures to differ |
Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for controlling heat globes, heat mats, heat cables, rock heaters and ceramic heat emitters up to a combined 1200W load, in both air and water applications. Not suitable as the sole protection against overheating on a heat source rated above 1200W, and not a substitute for a dedicated UVB controller.
Safety
Mains-powered at 220–240V through a standard AU plug. The over-temperature alarm is a backup, not a replacement for checking your setup – always confirm the sensor probe is positioned where the animal actually experiences the temperature, not just near the heat source itself. Do not exceed the 1200W maximum controlled load.
Common questions
What's the difference between this and the Eco Tech EZY SET?
The EZY SET is a basic on/off thermostat. This dimming model eases the heat source down rather than cutting it out, which is gentler on globes, and adds a day/night function so you can run two temperature targets.
What can I connect it to?
Heat globes, heat mats, heat cables, rock heaters and ceramic heat emitters, up to a combined 1200W.
Does it work for water as well as air temperature?
Yes – the sensor and control range suit both ambient air and water temperature applications.
What happens if the temperature goes out of range?
The built-in alarm sounds once the reading drifts outside your set tolerance, which is adjustable.
