Eco Tech Reptile Birch Hide
A secure resin hide for reptiles that want to feel hidden, not exposed. The Eco Tech Reptile Birch Hide is a resin replica log designed to give reptiles and amphibians a snug, enclosed space to retreat into, helping reduce the stress of feeling out in the open.
Key features
- Birch log look – a natural bark-textured finish that blends into a planted or naturalistic setup.
- Resin construction – solid and stable, won't collapse or crush like a real hollow log can.
- Enclosed retreat – a confined space animals can back into and feel covered on more than one side.
- Two sizes – Medium and Large, so the opening can be matched to the animal it's for.
Specifications
| Size | Dimensions | Material | SKU |
|---|---|---|---|

| Large | 32.5 x 14 x 8 cm | Resin | BA8581 |
Which size do I need?
Choose a hide close to your animal's body size – too roomy and it stops feeling secure. Medium suits smaller-bodied reptiles and amphibians; Large gives more clearance for a bigger-bodied animal or a pair sheltering together. If in doubt, size down rather than up.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
- Suited to terrestrial reptiles and amphibians that use ground-level hides – geckos, small skinks, and similar species that shelter rather than burrow.
- Not intended as a nesting or egg-laying box, and not sized for larger-bodied snakes or lizards – check the internal dimensions against your animal before buying.
Care and maintenance
Resin is non-porous, so the hide can be wiped down or rinsed and disinfected as part of normal enclosure cleaning without the hide breaking down or holding odour the way a real log can.
Warranty and delivery
Covered by your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Contact Nick's Aquarium Oceanarium Terrarium if a piece arrives damaged or with a manufacturing fault.
Common questions
Is this a real log or a replica?
It's a resin replica shaped and finished to look like birch bark – it won't degrade, mould or need replacing the way real wood can.
Can it go in a humid or bioactive enclosure?
Yes – resin doesn't absorb moisture, so it holds up in humid setups without softening or growing mould.
Will it float in a paludarium water section?
We don't have manufacturer data confirming buoyancy, so if you're using it near or in water, weight-test it first or keep it on the dry side of the enclosure.
