Exo Terra Pro Terrarium Medium / Tall 60 x 45 x 60cm
A balanced footprint and full climbing height, in the Pro range's mid-size format. The Exo Terra Pro Terrarium Medium/Tall is a 60 x 45 x 60 cm front-opening glass terrarium — equal parts floor space and vertical room. Dual lockable doors, a raised waterproof base and a stainless steel UVB-permeable screen top come standard, making it a natural fit for semi-arboreal reptiles and amphibians that use both the floor and the climbing space above it.
Key features
- 60 x 45 x 60 cm — floor space and height in equal measure — enough climbing room for branches and platforms without the larger footprint of the Large/Tall.
- Dual front-opening doors — spring-loaded push latches and an integrated lock for low-stress feeding and spot-cleaning.
- Removable, lockable screen top — stainless steel mesh sized for UVB penetration, secured by Exo Terra's in-frame locking mechanism.
- Three-tier adjustable airflow — forced vertical ventilation designed to cut front-glass condensation while holding humidity.
- Raised, waterproof base — takes a heat mat underneath the substrate, sealed against spills and misting run-off.
- Self-closing cable and tubing inlets — rear entry with internal gutters and dedicated misting nozzle attachment points.

Exo Terra does not publish internal height, glass thickness or empty weight for the Pro range on its current spec sheets or manuals, so those figures are left off here rather than estimated.
Where will this fit?
Check the 60 x 45 cm footprint against your stand, allow door-swing clearance at the front, and leave headroom above to lift the screen top off for cleaning. Exo Terra doesn't publish a separate internal-height figure — frame and screen thickness take a small amount off the 60 cm external height. Match any heat or UVB lamp against its own minimum mounting distance, published on that lamp's product page, using the usable height once substrate and décor are in.
Which Pro Terrarium do I need?
| Model | External size (W x D x H) | Floor footprint | Best suited to |
|---|---|---|---|
| Medium/Low | 60 x 45 x 30 cm | 60 x 45 cm | Ground-dwelling species that need floor space, not height |
| Medium/Wide | 60 x 45 x 45 cm | 60 x 45 cm | Terrestrial species wanting some climbing height without going tall |
| Medium/Tall (this page) | 60 x 45 x 60 cm | 60 x 45 cm | Semi-arboreal species balancing floor space and height |
| Large/Tall | 90 x 45 x 60 cm | 90 x 45 cm | Larger terrestrial or arboreal species needing more floor area at the same height |
What's included / what you'll still need
Included: the terrarium frame with dual lockable front doors, the stainless steel screen top, and the raised waterproof base.
You'll still need: a heat source sized to the enclosure, a UVB lamp matched to your species' UV zone, a thermostat, substrate, and décor or climbing furniture. A misting system is optional, connecting via the built-in attachment points.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for: semi-arboreal and terrestrial reptiles and amphibians that use both floor and climbing space, and bioactive builds using the base and a drainage layer.
Not suitable for: species needing a dedicated water section beyond a shallow dish — see the Exo Terra Pro Paludarium range for that — or species that need more floor area than 60 x 45 cm.
Care and maintenance
Feed, mist and spot-clean through the front doors. Lift the screen top off for deeper cleans or substrate changes. Clear the dirt collector at the vents occasionally so airflow isn't restricted, and clean the glass with a reptile-safe cleaner rather than an ammonia-based product.
Safety
This terrarium is not mains-powered. Run any heat lamp, heat mat or UVB lamp on a thermostat suited to that heat source, mounted at the minimum safe distance stated on that product's own page. A furnished tank at this size is heavy once substrate, décor and water features are in; set it up on a stand rated for the load.
Goes well with
A heat mat or ceramic heat emitter sized to this footprint, a UVB lamp matched to your species' target UV zone, a dial or pulse thermostat, and a bioactive-suitable substrate for the raised, waterproof base.
Warranty and delivery
Manufacturer warranty terms apply in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. This is a large glass item — check freight and pickup options at checkout.
Common questions
Does this terrarium include a heat lamp or UVB light?
No. It's supplied as the enclosure, screen top and base only, so you can choose heating and UVB to suit your species.
How is this different from the Medium/Wide size?
Both share a 60 x 45 cm footprint. This Medium/Tall stands 60 cm high for more climbing room; the Medium/Wide stands 45 cm high with a lower profile.
Can I fit a UVB lamp on the screen top?
Yes — the top is a stainless steel mesh chosen for UVB penetration, and it locks in place rather than sitting as a loose lid.
Is the base suitable for a bioactive drainage layer?
Yes. The base is raised and waterproof, which suits a drainage layer under bioactive substrate, and it's built to take a heat mat as well.
