Exo Terra Stainless Steel Tweezers Straight 30cm
Precise placement, zero surprises for your fingers. The Exo Terra Straight Stainless Steel Tweezers (30 cm) put 30 cm of hygienic, corrosion-resistant reach between your hand and a feeding response, with soft-coated straight tips that grip live or canned insects firmly without crushing them or catching an animal's mouth on a hard edge.
Key features
- 30 cm stainless steel shaft — enough reach to feed from outside the strike zone on most enclosures.
- Soft-coated tips — grip live insects securely while reducing the risk of mouth injuries if an animal grabs the tip instead of the food.
- Straight tip geometry — places food directly where you're aiming, rather than off to one side.
- Textured grip handle — stays controllable through long feeding sessions.
- Non-porous stainless steel — hygienic and easy to disinfect between feeds, which matters when tweezers move between enclosures.

Suitable for — and not suitable for
Suited to hand-feeding live or canned insects, thawed foods, pellets and vegetables to reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates such as spiders and scorpions. Not designed as a general aquascaping or substrate tool — the soft tip coating is there to protect an animal's mouth, not to grip rock or plant material.
Care and maintenance
Rinse after every feed and dry before storing. The stainless steel shaft tolerates regular washing, but avoid abrasive scourers on the soft-coated tip section, which can wear the coating away over time. Disinfect between enclosures if you keep more than one animal, to avoid transferring pathogens on feeding tools.
Goes well with
- Exo Terra Angled Stainless Steel Tweezers (30 cm) — the same tool with an angled tip, for feeding at a more natural presentation angle in tighter enclosures.
- Exo Terra Bamboo Feeding Tweezers (38 cm) — a lighter, longer alternative for larger enclosures.

Common questions
Are the tips sharp?
No — the tips carry a soft coating specifically to reduce the risk of mouth injury if an animal grabs the tweezers instead of the food.
What's the difference between the straight and angled versions?
Both are 30 cm and stainless steel. The straight tip places food directly ahead of the shaft; the angled version (PT2068) redirects the tip slightly to reduce wrist strain and suit tighter feeding angles.
Can I use these for aquarium work as well as terrariums?
The stainless steel shaft is corrosion-resistant and safe near water, so they're commonly used for both, though the soft tip coating is intended for feeding rather than aquascaping.
