Fluval Ammonia Remover 3 x 180gm bags

Pre-portioned into three ready-to-use bags, so there's no weighing out loose media. This pack contains three 180 g nylon bags of Fluval Ammonia Remover, the same natural ion-exchange media sold loose in the bulk bags, split into smaller amounts sized to fit directly into a Fluval canister filter's media basket. It's formulated for freshwater use only.

Will it fit my filter?

The bag size is designed to sit in the media basket of Fluval 104, 204, 304, 404, 105, 205, 305, 405, 106, 206, 306, 406, FX5 and FX6 filters. It also works in any other filter, sump or media reactor with room for a small nylon media bag.

Key features
  • Natural ion-exchange media - removes ammonia from the water as it flows past, rather than masking it.
  • Pre-bagged in nylon - drop a bag straight into the media basket, no portioning or handling loose media.
  • Three bags per pack - use one now and keep two in reserve, or run all three across multiple filters.
  • Suits new and heavily stocked tanks - useful while a tank is cycling, or when stocking density is pushing ammonia up between water changes.
Specifications

Suitable for, and not suitable for

Suitable for freshwater aquariums using any of the filters listed above, or any other filter with room for a small media bag. Not suitable for saltwater or reef tanks - keep this media out of marine systems, where it interferes with trace elements and salinity balance.

Care and maintenance

Fluval doesn't publish a fixed litres-treated figure for this media, since how long a bag lasts depends on your ammonia load rather than a set volume of water. Watch your ammonia test kit and swap in a fresh bag once readings stop staying down.

Warranty and delivery

Covered by Fluval's standard warranty against manufacturing defects, in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Common questions

Can I use this in a saltwater tank?

No - this media is formulated for freshwater use only.

Does each bag fit in one filter, or do I need all three?

One 180 g bag suits a single filter's media basket - the other two are spares for your next service or a second tank.

What's the difference between this and the bulk 1.6 kg or 2.8 kg bags?

Same media - this pack comes pre-portioned into three ready-to-use bags, while the bulk bags are loose media you portion yourself with the included mesh bag.
