Suitable for hardscape (the rock and wood framework of a layout) in freshwater aquariums and in terrariums. The stone's effect on water hardness and pH is not published, so test it before using it with soft water fish or shrimp. Some edges are sharp, so place pieces away from where fish with delicate fins or burrowing animals will rub against them.

Scrub and rinse each piece under running water before use. Because the mineral make-up of this stone is not published, do a bucket test before it goes into a soft water tank: soak a piece in a bucket of your tank water for a few days and test KH (carbonate hardness), GH (general hardness) and pH before and after. A rise in any of them shows the stone is dissolving minerals into the water.

Stack larger pieces directly on the tank base, not on top of the substrate, so they cannot slip if the substrate shifts.
