Marina Easy Catch Net
Small fine-mesh nets for the jobs a full-size net cannot reach. The Marina Easy Catch Net comes in four small sizes – a 5 x 6.3 cm rectangular head plus 7.5, 10 and 12.5 cm – for nano tanks, breeder boxes, fry containers and buckets during a water change. Fine mesh throughout, so it holds juveniles and small-bodied fish rather than letting them slip past. Suits freshwater and marine aquariums.
Key features
- Four small sizes, 5 x 6.3 cm to 12.5 cm – the range starts well below where the full-size Marina nets begin.
- Rectangular 5 x 6.3 cm option – a squared head works into tank corners, which is exactly where a cornered fish goes.
- Fine mesh – holds fry and juveniles, and is gentle on fins in the confined space of a breeder box.
- Fits inside in-tank containers – small enough to work inside a breeder box without lifting the box out.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for
- Nano tanks, shrimp tanks and desktop aquariums
- Working inside a breeder box or fry container without emptying it
- Retrieving a fish from a bucket during a water change
Not suitable for
- Adult cichlids, goldfish and other large-bodied fish – the head is too small, so use a 20 cm or 25 cm Marina Black Fish Net
- Deep display tanks, where the short reach means putting your arm in the water
- Use as a permanent holding net – a Marina Fish Net Breeder Box is designed for that
Care and maintenance
Small fine-mesh nets clog quickly with fine debris and leftover food. Rinse in tank water after use and hang to dry fully.
Because these nets are most often used around fry, quarantine tubs and hospital tanks, keep them out of the display tank entirely, or disinfect and dry them before they go back in.
Goes well with
- Marina Fish Net Breeder Box – the container these nets are sized to work inside
- Marina Blue Fish Net (Fine Mesh) – the full-size fine-mesh net for the main display
- Marina Air Stone 2.5 cm – aeration for a fry container or quarantine tub
- Marina Vertical LCD Thermometer – keeps an eye on a small fry container, where temperature swings fastest

Marina does not publish a fixed warranty term for its nets. Anything the manufacturer offers applies in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, which are not limited by anything stated on this page.
Ships as a standard parcel item. No dangerous goods, oversize or cold-chain handling applies.
Common questions
Which Easy Catch size should I start with?
The 10 cm is the most generally useful of the four. Choose the 5 x 6.3 cm rectangular head if the main job is working inside a breeder box or into square tank corners.
Is the Easy Catch net fine enough for shrimp?
It will hold adult dwarf shrimp in most cases. Marina does not publish a mesh aperture, so for shrimplets, cup them in a container of water rather than netting them.
Can I use this net in a breeder box without taking the box out?
Yes, that is what the small sizes are for. The 5 x 6.3 cm and 7.5 cm heads fit inside a typical in-tank breeder box, so fry are not tipped out and re-caught.
How is this different from the full-size Marina nets?
Size and reach. The Easy Catch range tops out at 12.5 cm, where the Black and Blue nets start at 5 cm and 15 cm and run to 25 cm. Mesh on the Easy Catch and Blue nets is fine; the Black net is standard.
