Prime Hanging Kit
A ceiling-hung Prime frees up the entire rim of the tank for maintenance, with nothing clamped to the glass. This is Aqua Illumination's suspension kit for the Prime series – Prime 16HD, Prime Freshwater, Prime Fuge and Prime Sol all share the same mounting point, so one kit fits any Prime fixture in the range. It replaces the clamp-style Tank Mount with a ball-jointed hanging bar and steel cable dropped from the ceiling, which is the option most reefers choose once they're tired of a mount arm intruding on a rimless tank.
Key features
- Fits the whole Prime range – Prime 16HD, Prime Freshwater, Prime Fuge and Prime Sol use the same mounting hole pattern, so this one kit works across the family.
- Ball-jointed suspension bar – the aluminium bar tilts and turns on a ball joint, so the light can be aimed independently of where the cable drops from the ceiling.
- Steel hanging cable – rated for indoor ceiling suspension, separate from the light's own power lead.
- No rim clamp – nothing touches the glass or acrylic edge, which matters on rimless tanks or where a clamp would block a lid.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for suspending a single Prime-series fixture above an open-top or rimless tank, or anywhere a rim clamp isn't practical. Not a multi-light hanging system – Aqua Illumination's multi-fixture hanging hardware (HMS) is built for the Hydra and Blade ranges and uses a different mounting pattern that a Prime cannot use.

Aluminium suspension bar with ball joint, and steel hanging cable. The Prime fixture itself, and any ceiling anchor needed for your specific ceiling type, are not included – check your ceiling material before installing.

Will this fit my Prime Freshwater or Prime Fuge?
Yes – all current Prime-series fixtures (16HD, Freshwater, Fuge and Sol) share the same mounting point, so this kit fits any of them.
Can I hang two Prime lights from one kit?
No, this kit suspends one fixture. Aqua Illumination doesn't currently sell a multi-Prime hanging kit – for two or more lights over one tank, most keepers run two single Hanging Kits side by side rather than a shared rail.
Does it come with the light?
No, the Prime fixture is sold separately – Aqua Illumination ships its Prime lights without a mount in the box.
