Swap the standard AC pump in a Reefer Skimmer 600 for a variable-speed DC pump and the skimmer starts levelling itself. This genuine Red Sea kit fits the Reefer Skimmer 600 with the same PSK-DC 1200 pump used across Red Sea's DC skimmer range, adding self-levelling operation and ReefBeat app monitoring once it's paired with the ReefRun Dual Controller.

What it fixes
Use this kit to move a Skimmer 600 from a fixed-speed AC pump to a controllable DC pump: self-levelling that responds to foam wetness and waste level, variable flow you can tune without changing impellers, and run-dry or blockage notifications through the ReefBeat app once the controller is fitted. It does not fix a failed or worn AC pump on its own — if the existing PSK-1000 pump has failed and you don't want the DC upgrade, the standard PSK-1000 replacement pump is the direct fix.
Fitting
Direct-fit swap into the existing Skimmer 600 body — no modification to the skimmer housing. Expect to re-tune the skimmer from scratch after fitting: a DC pump changes the air-to-water balance at the needle wheel, so the old AC-pump settings won't carry across.

Do I need the controller to use this kit?
Yes. The pump in this kit cannot run without the ReefRun Dual DC Pump Controller, which is sold separately.
Will this fit my Reefer Skimmer 300 or 900?
No — this kit is sized and tuned for the Skimmer 600. The 300 and 900 each have their own version of this kit.
Do I need to re-tune the skimmer after fitting the new pump?
Yes. A DC pump changes the air-water balance, so your existing AC-pump settings won't apply — start the tuning process again once it's fitted.
