Barb 3/4" Threaded Male
A threaded male barb lets you plumb an Aqua Ultraviolet steriliser into rigid pipework instead of running hose all the way to the unit. This is a genuine 3/4″ threaded male barb fitting for Aqua Ultraviolet UV sterilisers – one end threads into a bulkhead, valve or fitting, the other end takes 3/4″ flexible hose.
Key features
- 3/4″ threaded male end – connects to a threaded bulkhead, valve or T-piece.
- 3/4″ barb end – takes standard 3/4″ flexible aquarium hose.
- Genuine Aqua Ultraviolet part – sized to match the ports on the Classic and Twist 25 W–57 W range.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for connecting an Aqua Ultraviolet 25 W–57 W Classic or Twist unit to threaded plumbing, or for general 3/4″ threaded-to-barb connections elsewhere in the system. Aqua Ultraviolet's larger units use bigger ports, so confirm your unit's fitting size before ordering. If your plumbing uses a different thread standard, check compatibility before fitting – imported fittings are commonly cut to NPT thread, which is not interchangeable with BSP without an adaptor.
What's included
One fitting only. Thread tape, hose and hose clamps are not included.
Care and maintenance
Wrap the threaded end with plumber's thread tape before fitting to reduce the chance of weeping at the joint. Replace if the barb end cracks or the thread strips.
Warranty and delivery
Sold as a genuine Aqua Ultraviolet spare part. Standard delivery Australia-wide.
Common questions
Does this fit standard Australian BSP plumbing?
Check before fitting – imported UV steriliser fittings are commonly cut to NPT thread rather than BSP, and the two are not interchangeable without an adaptor.
Can I use this on the inlet and the outlet?
Yes, if both ends of your plumbing run need a threaded connection – order two if you're converting both ports.
Do I need thread tape?
Yes – wrap the male thread with plumber's tape before fitting to get a reliable seal.
