Bioscape Plastic Tubing Roll 16-20mm x 50Mtrs

Bulk tubing for canister filters, pumps and pond lines that need a 16–20 mm bore. This Bioscape Plastic Tubing Roll supplies 50 metres of flexible plastic hose in a 16–20 mm bore, sold as a full roll for shops, fish rooms and multi-tank setups that need to cut lengths to size rather than buy pre-cut sections.

Key features
  • 50 m roll — enough length to fit multiple canister filters, sumps or pond runs from one roll, or to keep as workshop stock.
  • 16–20 mm bore — sized for common mid-range canister filter and pump fittings; check your equipment's stated hose diameter before cutting.
  • Cut to length — sold as a continuous roll, so you cut only what each job needs and keep the remainder for future use or repairs.

Which bore size do I need?
Roll Bore Typical use
Bioscape Plastic Tubing 16–20 mm × 50 m 16–20 mm Small to mid-size canister filters, standard pond pump lines
Bioscape Plastic Tubing 20–26 mm × 50 m 20–26 mm Larger canister filters, sump returns, high-flow pond pumps

Check the hose spigot diameter stated for your specific filter or pump model before ordering — canister filter ranges commonly span both bore sizes across their line-up, and the wrong bore will not seal properly on the barb.

Will it fit my setup?

Measure the outside diameter of your filter or pump's hose barb, not the pipework already installed, since old tubing can stretch slightly over time. This roll suits barbs and spigots in the 16–20 mm range; if your fitting is larger, the 20–26 mm roll is the better match.

Suitable for, and not suitable for

Suitable for freshwater and marine aquarium filtration plumbing, sump returns and pond pump lines within the 16–20 mm bore range. Not suitable for fittings outside this range — forcing an undersized or oversized hose onto a barb is a common cause of a slow leak or a hose working loose under pressure.

Care and maintenance

Inspect tubing periodically where it passes over sharp edges or is exposed to UV light outdoors, as both can shorten its working life. Replace any length that has become brittle, cracked or discoloured rather than waiting for a leak.

Warranty and delivery

Covered against manufacturing defects under Bioscape's warranty, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Sold as a bulk roll — freight is calculated at checkout given the size and weight of a full 50 m roll.

Common questions

Can I use this for both the inlet and outlet side of a canister filter?

Yes, provided both hose barbs on your filter are within the 16–20 mm bore range — check the manufacturer's specifications, as some canister filters use a different diameter for inlet and outlet.

Is it sold pre-cut, or as a full roll?

As a full 50 m roll. You cut the lengths you need and keep the remainder.

What's the difference between this and the 20–26 mm roll?

Bore diameter only — this roll is sized for 16–20 mm fittings, the other for 20–26 mm. Match the roll to your equipment's stated hose diameter rather than guessing from the tank size.

Can I use this outdoors on a pond pump?

It can be used for pond plumbing, but tubing left in direct sun for extended periods will degrade faster than tubing run indoors or buried — check it periodically if it's exposed outdoors.
