Exo Terra Pro Terrarium Large/Tall 90 x 45 x 60cm
The most floor space and climbing height in the Pro range we stock. The Exo Terra Pro Terrarium Large/Tall is a 90 x 45 x 60 cm front-opening glass terrarium, the biggest footprint in the Pro line at Nick's Aquarium Oceanarium Terrarium. Dual lockable doors, a raised waterproof base and a stainless steel UVB-permeable screen top come standard. It suits adult reptiles that need real floor area plus enough height for climbing branches, basking platforms or a layered arboreal build.
Key features
- 90 x 45 cm floor area — the largest footprint in the Pro sizes we carry, with 60 cm of height for branches, platforms and vertical décor.
- Dual front-opening doors — spring-loaded push latches and an integrated lock mean feeding and spot-cleaning don't mean reaching in over the animal.
- Removable, lockable screen top — stainless steel mesh sized for UVB penetration, secured by Exo Terra's in-frame locking mechanism rather than a loose lid.
- Three-tier adjustable airflow — forced vertical ventilation is designed to cut condensation on the front glass while still holding humidity where you want it.
- Raised, waterproof base — built to take a heat mat underneath the substrate, with the base itself sealed against spills and misting run-off.
- Self-closing cable and tubing inlets — routed through internal gutters at the rear, with dedicated attachment points for a misting system nozzle.

Exo Terra does not publish internal height, glass thickness or empty weight for the Pro range on its current spec sheets or manuals, so those figures are left off here rather than estimated.
Where will this fit?
Check three clearances before you buy: the 90 x 45 cm footprint on your stand or cabinet, at least the width of one door swinging open in front for daily access, and clear space above the terrarium to lift the screen top straight off for a full clean. Exo Terra doesn't publish a separate internal-height figure for this range — frame and screen thickness take a small amount off the 60 cm external height. If you're mounting a specific heat lamp or UVB lamp, check that lamp's own minimum mounting distance, published on its product page, against the usable height once substrate and décor are in, rather than against the external box height.
Which Pro Terrarium do I need?
| Model | External size (W x D x H) | Floor footprint | Best suited to |
|---|---|---|---|
| Medium/Low | 60 x 45 x 30 cm | 60 x 45 cm | Ground-dwelling species that need floor space, not height |
| Medium/Wide | 60 x 45 x 45 cm | 60 x 45 cm | Terrestrial species wanting some climbing height without going tall |
| Medium/Tall | 60 x 45 x 60 cm | 60 x 45 cm | Semi-arboreal species balancing floor space and height |
| Large/Tall (this page) | 90 x 45 x 60 cm | 90 x 45 cm | Larger terrestrial or arboreal species needing the most floor area and height together |
What's included / what you'll still need
Included: the terrarium frame with dual lockable front doors, the stainless steel screen top, and the raised waterproof base.
You'll still need: a heat source sized to the enclosure, a UVB lamp matched to your species' UV zone, a thermostat, substrate, and any décor, hides or climbing furniture. A misting system is optional and connects via the built-in attachment points.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for: terrestrial and arboreal reptiles and amphibians that need this floor area and height, and bioactive builds using the base and a drainage layer.
Not suitable for: species needing a dedicated water section beyond a shallow dish — that's what the Exo Terra Pro Paludarium range is built for — or species needing more vertical space than 60 cm without additional caging.
Care and maintenance
Feed, mist and spot-clean through the front doors without disturbing the animal. Lift the screen top off using the in-frame locking mechanism for deeper cleans or substrate changes. The dirt collector built into the vent holes traps dust and loose substrate; clear it out occasionally so airflow doesn't restrict. Clean the glass with a reptile-safe cleaner — avoid ammonia-based glass cleaners, which are harmful to reptiles and amphibians.
Safety
This terrarium is not mains-powered itself. Any heat lamp, heat mat or UVB lamp fitted must be run on a thermostat suited to that heat source, and mounted at the minimum safe distance stated on that product's own page. A furnished tank at this size — glass, substrate, water features and décor — is heavy; set it up on a stand rated for the load and avoid moving it once furnished.
Goes well with
A heat mat or ceramic heat emitter sized to this footprint, a UVB lamp matched to your species' target UV zone, a dial or pulse thermostat for whichever heat source you choose, and a bioactive-suitable substrate for the raised, waterproof base.
Warranty and delivery
Manufacturer warranty terms apply in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. This is a large glass item — check freight and pickup options at checkout, as shipping method can vary by location for a terrarium this size.
Common questions
Does this terrarium come with heating or UVB lighting?
No. It's supplied as the enclosure, screen top and base only — heating, UVB lighting, a thermostat and substrate are sold separately so you can match them to your species.
What's the difference between this and the Medium/Tall size?
Both stand 60 cm high, but this Large/Tall has a 90 x 45 cm floor footprint against the Medium/Tall's 60 x 45 cm — a third more floor area for the same climbing height.
Can I mount a UVB lamp on the screen top?
Yes. The top is a stainless steel mesh specifically chosen for UVB penetration, and it locks in place with Exo Terra's in-frame mechanism rather than a loose lid.
Is the base watertight for a bioactive drainage layer?
The base is raised and waterproof, which is what makes it suitable for a drainage layer under a bioactive substrate. It's also built to take a heat mat underneath.
How do I run misting tubing into the terrarium?
Through the self-closing inlets at the rear, which route down internal gutters to dedicated nozzle attachment points — no drilling required.
