Suited to rainforest and cloud-forest setups — dart frogs, day geckos, crested geckos, many arboreal snakes and tropical plant-heavy vivariums — where humidity needs to sit high and recover fast after it drops. Not a substitute for adequate ventilation: fog that has nowhere to escape just condenses and can leave an enclosure permanently wet rather than humid. Not suitable for desert or arid setups, where sustained fog encourages mould and respiratory issues rather than solving a problem.

Use fresh water only, and demineralised or distilled water where possible — the manufacturer states this extends the transducer's life by reducing mineral scale. Never fill above 40°C, and never add chemicals or medicinal compounds to the reservoir. Route the fog into the enclosure through the mesh or a drilled cable entry using the supplied hose and PVC fittings, rather than standing the unit inside the terrarium itself.

• Clean the water tank roughly every three days.
• For mineral scale on the transducer, soak in equal parts water and white vinegar for 10–20 minutes.
• Remove the yellow tape and foam block from the transducer before first use.

Mains-powered — keep the unit itself away from splashing where practical, and don't leave it running unattended for extended periods. The automatic low-water shut-off protects the transducer but isn't a substitute for checking the reservoir regularly on a hot day when output runs faster.

Will this heat up my enclosure?

No — it's an ultrasonic cool-fog unit, not a heated steam humidifier, so it doesn't add warmth to the airflow it produces.

How long does a full reservoir last?

Up to 20 hours of running time per 4.5 L filling, at up to 300 mL/h of fog output.

What water should I use?

Fresh water, ideally demineralised or distilled to reduce mineral buildup on the transducer. Never use water above 40°C or add chemicals to the reservoir.

Does it need to sit inside the terrarium?

No — the included hose, connectors and suction-cup mounts are designed to duct fog in from outside, so the unit itself can sit beside or below the enclosure.

Can I run it constantly?

You can, but most rainforest setups do better on a timer that cycles fog for a few hours rather than running continuously — constant fog with poor ventilation leads to condensation rather than usable humidity.
