Fluval 104/105/106 & 204/205/206 Rubber Adaptor for Ribbed Hosing 2 Pack
The seal that stops a ribbed hose weeping at the joint.
This is the genuine Fluval rubber hose connector, part A20016, sold here as a pack of two. It slips over the ribbed intake and output hose and forms the friction seal against the motor head stems, the intake strainer and the spray bar. Fluval uses one part across its whole small and mid canister range, so it's a spare that doesn't go obsolete when you upgrade filters.
Key features
- Genuine Fluval A20016 — the connector Fluval fits new to every 104 through 207 canister filter.
- Sold as a pack of two — enough for both hose ends in one service.
- One part, four generations — the same connector fits everything from the original 104 through to the current 07 series.
- Fixes weeping joints — perished or split rubber at the connection is the usual cause of a slow drip, not a cracked hose.

This listing's title names the 104 to 206 range, but Fluval's current spec sheet for A20016 also lists the 107 and 207 as a fit — worth knowing if you're servicing a mixed set of canisters. It does not fit the 305/405 or 306/406, which take a larger connector, part A20067.
What's included
- 2 x rubber hose connectors
Not included
- The ribbed hosing itself. Sold separately by the metre.
- Intake strainer and spray bar. This part joins to them but doesn't replace them.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for a slow weep or drip at any hose joint on a 104 through 207 canister, and for routine replacement when hosing is disconnected for a deep clean. Not suitable for the 305/405, 306/406, 307/407 or FX Series, which use a larger-diameter connector.
Care and maintenance
Rubber hardens and cracks with age, faster where hoses sit near direct sun or get pulled tight on reassembly. Check both ends of each hose at every filter service and replace the connector as soon as it feels stiff, rather than waiting for a leak to show up on the cabinet floor.
Goes well with
- 106/206 intake stem and strainer — replace together if the strainer housing is also worn
- Motor head gasket O-ring — the other common source of a canister weep
Warranty and delivery
Supplied as a genuine Fluval replacement part. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law apply in full and nothing here limits them. Ships as a standard small parcel anywhere in Australia.
Common questions
Does one pack cover both ends of the hose?
Yes. The pack of two is sized for the intake and output connections on one filter.
Will this fit my Fluval 107?
Yes. Fluval lists A20016 as fitting the 105/205, 106/206 and 107/207, in addition to the older 104/204 covered by this listing's title.
My filter is dripping at the hose — is it the hose or the connector?
Check the connector first. Ribbed hose rarely splits along its length; the rubber connector at each end perishes faster because it stretches every time the hose comes off for cleaning.
Does this fit the Fluval 305 or 405?
No. Those use a larger-diameter connector, part A20067, sized for the bigger hose on the 305/405 and 306/406.
