Radion RMS Gen5 Adapter Kit
Puts a current fixture on the rail you already own. The Radion RMS Gen5 Adapter Kit is a small upgrade part: an X-bracket and an end cap adapter that let a Radion G5 or G6 fixture sit on an RMS mount originally built for a G4. It exists for one situation only – you are replacing an older Radion and want to keep the mounting hardware already over your tank.

Most people buying a new mount do not. Read this before you add it to your order.

Key features
- Covers G5 and G6 alike – there is no separate G6 adapter. This one kit handles both current generations.
- Rotating X-bracket – mounts the fixture parallel or perpendicular to the rail, so you can turn the light square to the tank.
- Sized to the fixture – XR704 for the XR15, XR705 for the XR30. They are not interchangeable.
- Keeps the existing arm – you reuse the rail, arm and clamp already on the tank, so nothing has to come off the glass.

The two screws fasten the end cap adapter. They are not for fixing the X-bracket to the light – a common misreading that leads people to look for missing hardware.

Suitable for, and not suitable for

- Owners upgrading a G4 Radion to a G5 or G6 who want to keep their existing RMS

- Anyone who bought an RMS mount before the Gen5 fixtures were released
Not suitable for:
- Use with a newly purchased RMS Tank Mount, which needs no adapter
- Mixing sizes – XR704 will not adapt an XR30, and XR705 will not adapt an XR15
- Mounting a fixture on its own – there is no arm or clamp in this box

Warranty and delivery
EcoTech Marine warrant this kit for 12 months from the date of original purchase, and require registration with them within 30 days of purchase for the warranty to take effect. That manufacturer warranty applies in addition to the consumer guarantees you have under the Australian Consumer Law, which are not limited by it.
Freight: standard parcel. No oversize, dangerous goods or cold chain handling applies.
Common questions
I just bought a new RMS tank mount. Do I need this too?
No. Current-production RMS Tank Mount kits ship with the G5/G6 X-bracket fitted, so a G5 or G6 Radion attaches without an adapter. This kit is only for RMS hardware bought before the Gen5 fixtures existed.
Is there a separate adapter for G6 fixtures?
No. EcoTech supply one adapter kit that covers both G5 and G6 fixtures, which is why the retail name lists them together. A G6 light uses the same bracket as a G5.
Why will my old mount not take the new light?
The mounting interface changed at Gen5. The G4-era X-bracket and slides do not match the end cap on a G5 or G6 fixture, so the adapter replaces that interface rather than modifying the light.
Will the XR15 kit adapt an XR30?
No. XR704 is for the XR15 and XR705 is for the XR30, and the brackets are physically different. Order the kit that matches the fixture, not the one that matches your rail.
What are the two screws for?
They fasten the end cap adapter. They are not intended to fix the X-bracket to the light fixture, so if you are hunting for screws to mount the bracket itself, you are not missing any parts.
I run three Radions on one rail. How many kits do I need?
One kit per fixture, so three. Each kit contains a single X-bracket and a single end cap adapter, and each light needs its own.
