EcoTech do not publish a load rating, a drop-adjustment range or the ceiling fixing type for this kit, so none of those figures are stated here. If your ceiling is plasterboard without an accessible joist, have the fixing checked before you hang a loaded track from it.

The kit hangs whichever RMS track you buy, so track length sets the fixture count. These are EcoTech's published figures. The second column applies when an XR30 is turned 90 degrees to run across the tank rather than along it, which costs you a position.

• Buy the track to suit the tank, not the fixture count – a track that overhangs the tank lets you spread the lights; one that is too short crowds them into the middle.
• One slide per fixture – XR15 and XR30 use different slides, so count them by model.
• Leave slack in the cable – you will want to raise the track during coral placement and lower it afterwards.
• Check what is above the tank – a ceiling fan, a downlight or a sloped ceiling all change where the cable can land.

Does this include the rail?

No. The RMS Hanging Kit contains brackets, hanging hardware and 2.49 m of cable only. The RMS track, the slides that carry each fixture and the lights themselves are all bought separately.

How much cable do I get?

2.49 m, or 98 inches. EcoTech and their parent company both publish that figure, though one reseller lists 72 inches, so if you are working to a very high ceiling it is worth confirming on arrival.

How many lights can I hang from it?

That depends on the track you pair it with, not on the hanging kit. EcoTech's track range runs from a 50 cm track carrying two Radions to a 230 cm track carrying seven.

Can I use this to hang just one Radion?

You can, but it is the expensive way to do it, because you would still need a track. For a single fixture the Radion Single Unit Hanging Kit hangs the light directly from its own eyelets with no track at all.

What weight will it hold?

EcoTech do not publish a load rating for this kit. Because the figure is not stated, treat the ceiling fixing as the part to get right and mount into structure rather than into plasterboard alone.

Do I still need the RMS arms?

No. The arms are the legs that clamp an RMS track to the tank, and a ceiling-suspended track does not use them. You need the hanging kit, the track and one slide per fixture.
