Versa Dosing Pump - Single
Add one more precisely dosed reagent without buying a second base station. The EcoTech Marine Versa Dosing Pump (VX-1) is a single-channel peristaltic doser with its own power supply, so it runs standalone on a reef system that only needs one automated reagent – or as an extra channel alongside an existing Versa Base Station setup.
Key features
- Runs standalone – includes its own power supply, so a Base Station isn't required for a single reagent.
- Dosing accuracy to within 2% – precise enough for daily alkalinity or calcium dosing without constant recalibration.
- 6 µL minimum, up to 300 mL maximum per dose – covers trace-element dosing through to larger volume tasks on the same pump.
- Up to 30 discrete dosing events a day – split a daily dose into smaller, more frequent doses to reduce pH swings.
- Three dosing modes – Auto (scheduled), Continuous (constant run) and Manual (set volume or duration on demand).

What's included
One Versa dosing pump with its own power supply, plus a female PTC connector and a barbed adapter for tubing.
Not included
A dosing container for your reagent, and dosing line tubing beyond the fittings supplied – extra lengths are sold separately by colour.
Which Versa do I need?
This single pump suits one reagent. Dosing two or more reagents on independent schedules works out cheaper as the 4-pump kit with Base Station, which also removes the need for a separate power brick per pump.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for: a single automated reagent – commonly alkalinity or calcium on a reef tank, or a single additive on a planted freshwater system. Not suitable for: multi-reagent dosing without buying multiple single units and power supplies – the 4-pump kit is the better value path there.
Running costs
At its rated 12 W draw, run continuously this pump uses roughly 105 kWh a year – about $32 annually at a 30c/kWh tariff. Dosing pumps run in short bursts rather than continuously, so actual draw is typically well under this ceiling figure.
Care and maintenance
The dosing tubing compressed by the pump's rotor is the wear item, not the pump body – plan to replace the dosing line periodically rather than expecting the original tubing to last indefinitely.
Warranty and delivery
Covered by EcoTech Marine's manufacturer warranty, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Ships as a standard parcel.
Goes well with

Common questions
Do I need a Base Station to use this pump?
No. This single unit includes its own power supply and runs standalone.
Can I add this to an existing Base Station later?
The Base Station docks up to four pumps and shares one power supply between them; this standalone unit has its own supply, so check compatibility before combining the two rather than assuming they interchange.
How precise is the dosing?
EcoTech states 2% accuracy or better, with doses as small as 6 µL a minute – precise enough for daily reef dosing.
What tubing does it use?
1/4 in OD tubing with push-to-connect or barbed fittings – the same tubing used across the Versa range.
