Zoo Med Eco Carpet 60 x 30cm
A soft, washable carpet liner made from recycled plastic bottles that's safe even if it's swallowed. Zoo Med Eco Carpet is an absorbent, non-abrasive terrarium liner suited to many species of snakes, lizards, tortoises and insects, and it can't be accidentally ingested the way loose substrate sometimes can.
Key features
- Made from recycled plastic bottles – an eco-friendlier alternative to loose substrate.
- Soft and non-abrasive – gentle on scales, feet and shells.
- Cannot be accidentally ingested – removes the impaction risk that comes with loose substrates.
- Washable and reusable – Zoo Med describes it as washable and easy to clean, rather than a single-use liner.

Will it fit my enclosure?
This size corresponds to Zoo Med's 15/20 gallon carpet in their range, which spans sizes from 5 gallon up to 55 gallon. Measure your enclosure floor and trim the carpet to fit – it's easy to cut to size with scissors.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable as a substrate liner for snakes, lizards, tortoises and insects. Not intended for species that need to burrow or dig, since it doesn't provide a diggable substrate layer.
Care and maintenance
Zoo Med describes this carpet as washable and easy to clean. Zoo Med doesn't publish a specific wash count or state whether it's machine-washable, so we'd suggest hand-washing and air-drying and replacing it once it starts to fray or hold odour.
Warranty and delivery
Covered by the consumer guarantees that apply automatically under Australian Consumer Law. Standard parcel delivery Australia-wide.
Common questions
Can I cut it to fit my enclosure?
Yes, it can be trimmed to size with scissors to fit tanks that don't match a standard size exactly.
Is it safe if my reptile swallows a piece?
Zoo Med states it cannot be accidentally ingested, which is one of the main reasons keepers choose a carpet liner over loose substrate for impaction-prone species.
Can I put it in the washing machine?
Zoo Med doesn't confirm machine-washing on their product page. To be safe, we'd suggest hand-washing until you can confirm otherwise with Zoo Med.
Does it come in other colours or sizes?
Zoo Med's Eco Carpet range also comes in tan, and in sizes from 5 gallon up to 55 gallon – get in touch if you need a different size to this one.
