Aqua Medic Aqualine T5 Reef White 15000oK 80w
The longest tube in the Aqualine T5 range, for large reef fixtures needing extra length. The Aqua Medic Aqualine T5 Reef White 15,000K is an 80 W T5 HO fluorescent tube at 1450 mm, giving a crisper, cooler daylight spectrum than the 10,000K tube in the same range. It uses the standard G5 bi-pin base shared across T5 HO fixtures.
Key features
- 15,000K daylight white spectrum — noticeably cooler and more blue-shifted than the 10,000K Reef White tube, for reefers who prefer a crisper white.
- 80 W output at full 1450 mm length — sized for the largest single-run T5 HO fixtures.
- Standard G5 bi-pin base — fits any T5 HO fixture built for an 80 W / 1450 mm tube, Aqua Medic or third-party.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for: T5 HO fixtures built for an 80 W / 1450 mm tube — typically four and six-tube fixtures over large or long reef tanks. Run as the daylight tube alongside actinics for full-spectrum coverage.
Not suitable for: shorter T5 HO fixtures — check your fixture's rated tube length before ordering, since an 80 W tube will not physically fit a fixture built for 550 mm or 850 mm tubes. Not a T8 or standard (non-HO) T5 replacement.
Performance
As with the shorter tubes in this range, Aqua Medic does not publish a PAR-at-depth chart for the bare tube — actual PAR at the sand bed depends on the reflector and fixture, not the tube alone. Check your fixture's own performance chart for PAR planning. General T5 HO industry practice (not an Aqua Medic-specific figure) is to replace tubes on a roughly 9 to 12 month schedule, since usable coral-relevant spectrum fades well before the tube fails outright.
Care and maintenance
- Keep the tube and reflector free of salt creep — a dusty reflector costs more output than an ageing tube.
- Replace on a schedule rather than by eye.
- Let the tube cool before handling after use.
Warranty and delivery
Covered by Aqua Medic's standard manufacturer warranty against defects, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Ships as a standard parcel.
Goes well with
- Aqua Medic Aqualine T5 Reef Blue — the matching actinic tube for a full white-and-blue reef spectrum.
- Aqua Medic Aqualine T5 Reef White 10000K — the shorter 24 W/39 W tubes in the same daylight-white line.
Common questions
Will this tube fit my existing T5 fixture?
Only if your fixture is built for an 80 W tube at 1450 mm. T5 HO tube length and wattage are fixed together, so check your fixture's rated tube length before ordering.
What's the difference between the 10,000K and 15,000K Reef White tubes?
Both are daylight-white spectrum rather than actinic blue, but the 15,000K tube runs noticeably cooler and more blue-shifted than the 10,000K tube. Choice comes down to personal colour preference for the display.
How often should I replace it?
Most reef keepers replace T5 tubes on a schedule of roughly 9 to 12 months, since coral-relevant spectrum output fades before the tube visibly dims or fails — this is general T5 practice rather than a figure Aqua Medic publishes for this tube specifically.
