Flipper Platinum Scraper Replacement Blades 10pk - Plastic

Ten spare blades for the Flipper Platinum scraper, safe on glass and acrylic. These are the plastic blade cards that fit the Flipper Platinum hand scraper, the 28 inch fiberglass-handled pole tool used to clear algae from tank walls without getting an arm wet. Each card has a serrated edge that lifts algae without scoring the surface underneath, so the same pack works on an acrylic reptile enclosure or a glass reef tank.

Key features
  • Glass and acrylic safe - the plastic card will not scratch either surface, unlike a stainless blade run across acrylic.
  • Serrated edge - shears algae off cleanly instead of just pushing it around.
  • Insert in any direction - the blade holder on the Platinum handle accepts the card at any angle, useful for corners and rounded glass.
  • Trim to shape - the card can be cut down to reach tight spots between rockwork or ornaments that a full-width blade can't get into.
  • Ten pack - enough spares that a chipped or worn card isn't a reason to stop cleaning.

Suitable for, and not suitable for

Suitable for: routine algae scraping on acrylic tanks and enclosures, and on glass tanks where you would rather not risk a metal edge near the silicone seams or a painted background. Not suitable for: heavy calcified coralline buildup on glass, where a stainless blade card sold separately for the Platinum handle clears more in one pass.

Care and maintenance

Rinse the card after use so algae does not dry and harden on the serrations. Replace a card once the serrated edge rounds off and starts leaving algae behind rather than lifting it.

Sold as a standard parcel item. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law apply regardless of any supplier warranty term.

Common questions

Will the plastic blade scratch my acrylic tank?

No. The plastic card is the acrylic-safe option for the Platinum handle - a stainless blade is the one to avoid on acrylic.

Can I use these on a glass tank?

Yes. They are rated for both glass and acrylic, though a stainless card will shift stubborn coralline algae on glass faster if that is what you are dealing with.

Do these fit the Flipper Standard or Nano magnetic cleaners?

No. These cards fit the Platinum hand scraper only, a separate handheld pole tool. The magnetic cleaners use their own dedicated stainless or ABS blades.
