Insectivore Betta Insect Flakes 25gm

The betta's natural diet, in a flake. Insectivore Betta Insect Flakes lean on insect and fish protein – herring meal, freeze-dried bloodworm and krill – to match what bettas pick off the water's surface in the wild, in a floating flake sized for their upturned mouth. 25 g pack.

Key features
  • Freeze-dried bloodworm and krill – the insect-and-crustacean diet bettas evolved to eat
  • Floating flake – suits the betta's upward, surface-feeding mouth
  • 40.2% protein – high for a flake food, matched to a carnivore
  • Paprika and crab eggs – natural colour-supporting ingredients alongside the added colourants
  • 25 g pack – sized for how little a single betta actually eats

Feeding directions

Feed once or twice daily, offering only as much as your betta can consume within a few minutes. Remove any uneaten flake to protect water quality, and avoid overfeeding – bettas bloat easily on flake fed too heavily. Store the pack in a cool, dry place.

Suitable for, and not suitable for

Suits bettas, gouramis, rasboras, angelfish, discus and other small carnivorous tropical fish. Not intended as the sole diet for strict bottom feeders or algae grazers sharing the same tank – add a wafer or sinking tablet for them.

Storage

Store sealed, in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.

Goes well with

Pairs with Insectivore Bottom Tablets if the same tank holds corydoras or other bottom feeders, and with Insectivore Algae Wafer where snails or plecos share the aquarium.

Warranty and delivery

Covered by the consumer guarantees under Australian Consumer Law in addition to any manufacturer undertakings. Ships as a standard, ambient dry good with no special freight handling required.

Common questions

Will this flake cloud my betta's water?

Only if overfed. Feed a pinch your betta clears in a couple of minutes and remove any leftovers.

Can I feed this in a betta sorority or community tank?

Yes – it also suits gouramis, rasboras, angelfish and discus, so it works as a shared flake across a mixed community.

Why does it contain colourants E124 and E172?

They're added to intensify the flake's visual appeal to the fishkeeper; they aren't required for nutrition and don't affect palatability.

How much should I actually feed one betta?

A few flakes, once or twice a day, is plenty – a betta's stomach is roughly the size of its eye. Skipping a feed one day a week supports digestion.
