Radion G5/G6 High Intensity Lens Kit (Narrow Angle Kit)
Reef tanks with more depth or a narrower footprint often need punch, not spread. This is EcoTech Marine's High Intensity Lens Kit – the narrow angle optic upgrade for G5 and G6 Radion fixtures. Swapping in the narrow lens trades beam width for intensity, concentrating the same LED cluster's output into a tighter cone that reaches further down the water column.

PFD is EcoTech's own measure of light intensity at the lens; the narrower the beam, the more of that intensity lands in a smaller footprint. Total coverage area is reduced compared with the standard lens – this is a trade of spread for punch, not a free upgrade.
Which one do I need?
Choose the narrow angle kit for a deeper tank where PAR at the sandbed is falling short, or where the fixture is mounted higher than usual. If your tank is shallow or wide and the standard lens already covers it edge to edge, the narrow lens will leave gaps at the corners – stick with the standard optic.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for G5 and G6 Radion fixtures needing more punch at depth. Not suitable for G1–G4 Radions, which use a different lens mount, and not a like-for-like swap on a shallow or wide tank where the narrower spread would leave the edges under-lit.
Common questions
Will this let me run the light dimmer for the same PAR?
Yes – because intensity increases substantially at the same wattage, many keepers reduce the fixture's output percentage after fitting the narrow lens and still land on their target PAR.
Does it reduce my coverage area?
Yes. EcoTech's own documentation notes total coverage is reduced compared with the standard lens – it concentrates light rather than spreading it.
Can I fit this myself?
Yes – the kit includes the lens and the hardware needed; no soldering or electrical work is involved.
