Vortech O-Ring for MP40 Wetside
A replacement O-ring for the VorTech MP40 wet side. This is the genuine EcoTech Marine O-ring (a rubber sealing ring) for the MP40 wet side (the part of a VorTech pump that sits inside the aquarium, holding the propeller), part number MP101-00010. EcoTech states it is designed for MP40 QD (QuietDrive) models only. Keep one on hand for when the original stretches, splits or goes missing during a clean.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for MP40 owners replacing a worn, damaged or lost wet side O-ring. Check which MP40 you have first: EcoTech states this O-ring is designed for MP40 QD (QuietDrive) models and is not compatible with the older ES (EcoSmart) VorTech pumps. Not suitable for the MP10 or MP60, which each have their own O-ring listed on our store. EcoTech's limited warranty on VorTech pumps states that attempts at self repair void it, so if your pump is still under warranty and has a fault beyond a worn or lost part, talk to us before taking it apart.
Care
EcoTech recommends cleaning the wet side every 6 to 8 weeks, or as needed, by taking it apart and brushing the parts gently under running water with a soft brush. For calcium build-up, soak the parts in a mild acid such as vinegar; EcoTech warns that strong acids can damage the components.
