Sized for the Exo Terra Medium Tall Terrarium (60 × 45 × 60 cm), whose rear glass is 60 cm wide by 60 cm high. If you're fitting out a different model, check the size table below – at this size it pays to measure the rear glass before ordering rather than going by the terrarium's marketing name.

All five Exo Terra Rock Backgrounds are cut to match a specific Exo Terra Natural Terrarium. Measure your terrarium's rear glass panel – width × height – and match it against the model below.

Backgrounds can be trimmed down with scissors or a craft knife for a smaller footprint, but they can't be stretched to cover a larger one – when in doubt, size up rather than down.

One 60 × 60 cm rock-effect background panel. Silicone sealant to mount it, and the terrarium itself, are sold separately.

• Suitable for larger terrestrial and arboreal reptiles and amphibians, and both tropical and desert terrarium styles.
• Not suitable for permanent submersion – this is a terrarium backdrop, not a rated aquatic or paludarium liner, and it hasn't been tested below the waterline.

Wipe down with a damp cloth; avoid solvents or abrasive cleaners, which can degrade the polystyrene coating. At this larger size, check the silicone bead around the edges periodically in high-humidity setups to make sure it's still holding along the full perimeter.

The panel is non-toxic and safe for contact with reptiles and amphibians. Keep heat sources such as ceramic heat emitters and heat mats at the manufacturer's recommended clearance from the panel – polystyrene is heat-sensitive and can warp or scorch if a fixture is mounted too close.

Is this the same panel used in the Medium Wide terrarium?

No. The Medium Wide takes the 60 × 45 cm PT2960 panel; this 60 × 60 cm PT2961 panel is taller and matched to the Medium Tall's higher back wall. Check the size table above before ordering.

Can I join two smaller panels instead of buying this size?

We wouldn't recommend it – a seam between two panels is a visible line and a weak point for silicone to fail along. A single panel cut to size gives a cleaner, more secure result.

What do I use to stick it to the glass?

A 100% aquarium-safe silicone sealant, applied in a bead pattern to the back of the panel before pressing it into place. Silicone isn't included with the background.

Will it change the humidity in my terrarium?

Not on its own. It adds a small amount of insulation to the rear glass but doesn't replace your normal misting, ventilation or humidity gradient setup.
