Flipper Edge Stainless Steel Blade for Glass Tanks - 4pk
Genuine 316 stainless steel refill blades for the Flipper Edge, glass tanks only. This 4-pack supplies stainless steel replacement blades for the Flipper Edge magnetic cleaner, the standard model rated to 12 mm (1/2") of glass. Steel holds a sharper edge than plastic, at the cost of being unsafe on acrylic.
Key features
- 316 stainless steel - marine-grade, corrosion resistant in both fresh and saltwater.
- Fits the Flipper Edge (standard) - rated to 12 mm (1/2") glass.
- Sharper scrape than plastic - better on stubborn coralline or hard green-spot algae.
- 4 blades per pack - two full changes at the recommended 3 to 6 month interval.

Will it fit my cleaner?
This blade fits the standard Flipper Edge only, not the larger Edge Max. If your cleaner is rated to 25 mm, use the Edge Max stainless steel blade 4pk instead.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for: glass aquariums up to 12 mm thick. Not suitable for: acrylic tanks of any thickness - stainless steel will scratch an acrylic panel. Use the acrylic-safe plastic blade there instead.
Care and maintenance
Replace every 3 to 6 months, or sooner once the edge feels like it is dragging rather than cutting. Rinse and dry the blade between uses to slow surface pitting in saltwater systems.
Goes well with
- Flipper Edge Acrylic-Safe Blades 10pk - keep a set on hand for any acrylic surfaces the steel blade should not touch.
- Flipper Maintenance Kit - Replacement Pads - for the felt scrubber side of a Flipper Standard or Max cleaner.
Warranty and delivery
Flipper does not publish a separate warranty term for replacement blades. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law apply regardless of any manufacturer terms.
Common questions
Can I use this blade on an acrylic tank?
No. Stainless steel will scratch acrylic. Use the acrylic-safe plastic blade on acrylic tanks and terraria.
Does this fit the Edge Max?
No, this is sized for the standard Edge. The Edge Max uses a larger blade.
Is 316 stainless steel safe in a marine tank?
Yes. 316 is a marine grade of stainless steel chosen for its corrosion resistance in saltwater.
