Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for: acrylic aquariums and enclosures, and any tank where you want to rule out scratch risk entirely. Not suitable for: heavy coralline or hard algae on glass, where the stainless steel blade clears more in a single pass - stainless is fine on glass, just not on acrylic.
Care and maintenance
ABS wears faster than stainless against stubborn algae, so expect to rotate blades from the pack more often on a heavily algae-prone tank. A blade that is rounding off and skating over algae rather than lifting it is due for a swap.
