Vortech MP40 Wet Side
Replace the underwater pump body without buying a whole new unit. This is the genuine EcoTech Marine wet-side pump assembly for the Vortech MP40 – the propeller and magnet-coupled housing that sits inside the tank. It fits any MP40 driver, from the original MP40 through to the current Mobius QuietDrive, so a worn or noisy wet side doesn't mean replacing the whole pump.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
- Suitable for: any MP40-series driver – original, w, wQD, wES or Mobius QuietDrive – where the wet side has worn, cracked, gone noisy, or lost magnetic grip.
- Not suitable for: MP10 or MP60 drivers, which take their own wet-side part.
Care and maintenance
Rinse in fresh water when you clean the pump, and check the magnet coupling for coralline or algae build-up – that's the most common cause of a wet side that spins roughly or slips under load. Avoid harsh descalers on the shaft and bearing.

Common questions
Will this fit my older MP40, not the QuietDrive version?
Yes. EcoTech's own guidance is that any MP40 wet side works with any MP40 driver generation, so this fits older non-QuietDrive units as well as current ones.
Do I need to replace the foam guard at the same time?
Only if yours is damaged. It's not included with this part and is sold separately.
What are the signs I need a new wet side rather than a new driver?
A grinding or rattling noise from inside the tank, visibly worn or cracked propeller housing, or the pump slipping and losing magnetic grip under normal flow, usually point to the wet side rather than the dry-side driver.
Will this work on an MP10 or MP60?
No. Those use their own, differently sized wet-side assemblies – this part is specific to the MP40 range.
