Reptile Humidifiers & Misters

Reptile humidifiers and misters solve the same problem from two directions. A mister such as the Exo Terra Monsoon sprays fine droplets on a timer, wetting leaves and glass like rain, which is how chameleons, dart frogs and many geckos prefer to drink. A fogger, meaning the Zoo Med Repti-Fogger and the Exo Terra Mist Fogger and Ultrasonic Fog Generator, uses an ultrasonic plate to turn water into a cool visible fog that lifts air humidity without soaking anything. Replacement brass nozzles, nozzle extension kits and Y connectors let one Monsoon serve two enclosures.

Fill ultrasonic units with reverse osmosis or distilled water, since tap water leaves a white mineral dust on the glass and shortens the life of the plate. Pair either system with a hygrometer so you work from a number rather than a guess.
